We all know the meme, "This meeting could have been an email." Lately, I've been testing out, "This meeting could have been a video instead". A short pre-recorded video works especially well when briefing senior leaders for upcoming presentations and I don't need to find time in their busy calendars for a longer conversation. I simply record a quick video of me explaining what's going to happen, etc., et voilà! And while I do love crafting a really good prep mail (please someone tell me I'm not alone in this), an explainer video gives it that extra human touch that helps set the right tone for what's to come. Here's my process: - Schedule a solo meeting in Microsoft Teams - Turn camera and mic on - Hit record - Deliver my short briefing - with or without visuals - Wrap up with a note to say click here for everything you need to prepare for xyz.
