Researchers have discovered how our neurons coordinate their activity like “a worker in a high-performing business” where “balancing individual skills with teamwork is key to success… …the brain’s secret is surprisingly simple: devote no more than half (and no less than 40%) of each cell’s effort to individual tasks. Where does the rest of the effort go? Towards scalable teamwork.” Posing the question “do neurons act like star players (each highly specialised and efficient) or do they prioritise teamwork (ensuring the whole system works even when some elements falter)?”, one of the insights the researchers gained is that: “brain activity unfolds according to a fractal hierarchy” which facilitates the adaptabilty for ensuring “the brain operates efficiently, accomplishing tasks with minimal resources while staying resilient by maintaining function even when neurons misfire.” Does this remind you of how your team and organisation function? Are you a Solo Tech Consultant wanting to “scale yourself”? Feeling “stuck” on monthly revenu far below your worth? The past 4 months I have interacted in some way with almost 500 solo tech consultants around the topic: “How do I get more clients, increase my revenue and profits and in general “level up my game” to the next level?” The conclusions are pretty clear. So many solo consultants in Tech are really struggling with these questions. Some are doing quite well, with monthly revenues of 15-20 sometimes 30K per month. But still feel trapped or stuck in the non-scalable model of selling “hours” instead of value. Others are struggling in a more urgent way. Feeling stuck on revenue levels far below their worth, making perhaps 5-10K per month or even less. And some are more positive and hopeful wanting to start their solo consulting business but not knowing how the whole game of getting clients really work. The good news is that today there are more opportunity than ever to do the transition from what I call an Inexpensive Doer (getting paid for what you do=hours), to a Desired Expert (getting paid for who you are and what you know). And even better. This path can go further by adopting the mindset of a Knowledge Entrepreneur. Challenging the now far too old Tayloristik view that “labor is hours”, that worked well in the factory in the 1920’s. But is totally obsolete in the age of scalable delivery models, method based digital content and niche B2B scalable focused business models. Now how do we transition someone from the old obsolete dysfunctional solo consultant business and delivery models…? … to becoming a Knowledge Entreprener. Maximizing the financial potential of knowledge and experience. Creating true independence and freedom while having an impact far beyond what has previously been possible. Not an easy question to answer. But one I have really tried to answer for myself the past 15 years. And I think I have at least part of the answer. One aspect is how you organize your operations as a solo consultant to make yourself scalable through what I call Habit Packs for Micro Roles. It is game of role playing with yourself. Designing your offers, processes, delivery models, price models and your day to day habits and schedule top down, deliberately and “by design” - not “by chance or random events”. Here is a sneak peak of my own personal version that I am using myself. My oldest son woke up earlier this week with the “instruction” not to mess with fathers Post-Its. Spread all over the kitchen table 😱. -“So dad, what is this really?”, he asked -“Well isn’t it obvious? It is a Solo Consultant Scalable Knowledge Factory!” -“Ok…😵. So since your computer seems free. Can I borrow it to play Fortnite??” (Sure, I get the hint. This is a bit nerdy…”. 🤪😎) So bottom line. There is great opportunity and potential. Even if it doesn’t always feel that way…

#INSTANTTURNON : HOW TO STAND OUT… If you are asked to introduce yourself at a networking event, a meeting, or at a Conference, it is probably in your best interest to stand out like the expert you are. How do you make people remember you, and want to to come and speak to you at the break? By introducing yourself DIFFERENTLY to the others. The majority of people begin by saying “Good morning/afternoon/evening/hello”. You have been there for an hour already! No sense in saying “good morning, …whatever “ at this point. So DON’T begin with a greeting. Then the majority of people will say “My name is X. I am a Y. and my office is in Z”. DON’T say that. Instead, stand out by saying something different. For example: “I know the majority of people here need legal advice they can rely on. A qualified legal expert in their own professional field. I know that many of you would sleep better at night if they knew that all their legal issues could be solved quickly and easily. My name is X, and as a company lawyer with 25 years experience, I am someone you and your company would probably like to meet…..” That’s your HOOK! It will get people’s attention and make you stand out from all the others. ⚠️ Can we truly mobilize talent in the short or long term in an ecosystem that tolerates mediocrity? 🔍 During our last Guadeloupe2030 meeting by EOG - Entrepreneurs Of Greatness, which focused on ways to involve the diaspora in the development of the territory, a crucial point emerged: the perception of the territory by this diaspora. The stark reality is that this diaspora generally holds a negative view of their homelands, particularly due to the perception of an overall acceptance of mediocrity at all societal levels. 📉 Numerous examples exist of absurd situations tolerated in our territories that would be unacceptable elsewhere. Why do we tolerate standards that other countries would outright reject? How can we encourage local children to invest in their homeland if they constantly hear about what doesn't work? 💡 Some say, and I am among them, that we must highlight what works and find ways to circumvent what doesn’t. But let's be honest: why invest so much energy with limited chances of return when the same effort and resources elsewhere would yield almost guaranteed returns? ⏳ Others argue that the current situation is a starting point and that patience is necessary because things do not change overnight. But do we have the luxury of being patient when the peril is so great, and the problems are clearly identified by everyone, yet we shy away from addressing them, likely out of fear of the unknown? 🌍 This pressing question deserves deep reflection. We must stop settling for half-measures and radically rethink our approaches to inspire our diaspora and motivate them to actively contribute to the development of our territory. Greetings LinkedIn Friends and Peers: Will you know exactly what to do when faced with the unthinkable? Key Point: Ensuring one's personal safety during times of disruption helps the family feel safe and secure when confronted with the unthinkable. Key Point: When families are best prepared to face active shooter, insider threats, bomb threats, domestic terrorism, crowd crush, you name it, this starts with having a preplanned survival mindset. Key Point: During a true emergency situation, by the time the good guys get on scene-responding law enforcement, typically the bad stuff has already taken place. Question: When faced with a life threatening situation, what will you do to best survive prior to law enforcement's arrival on scene? Key Point: When families have created a preplanned response to best survive the unthinkable, they immediately improve their communication with one another. Knowing how they will respond places them in a position of strength, not weakness to best deal with these challenges. Key Point: When family leaders, parents, etc. take the time to explain the importance of being safe in a troubled world, they provide a level of comfort, safety and security for their children, family members. They lead from the front. They lead without fear. Context: WYP? These are indeed most difficult, trying times. The world we find ourselves living in is one filled with conflict and turmoil. The purpose of this book is not to create fear but rather instill a heightened sense of awareness for you and your family. After having spent 21 years in law enforcement, a noble but dangerous profession, I should know about trying times. As a member of the Nassau County Police Department on Long Island, New York, I responded to domestic incident violence calls, aided cases, house fires, shots fired, a man with a gun, lost and missing children/adults, auto accidents, some with fatalities, and worked the aftermath of 9/11, the Blackout, and Tropical Storm Irene. Thank you for allowing me into your world as I communicate with you on how to keep your family safe during various public situations you may encounter.
