GenAI: I still don't get it. Do you? Five months ago, Vimal Kumar Rai and I explained #AI and #GenAI in the easy-to-understand Commercial Excellence Partners webinar. I just re-lived it. And I realized how much GenAI has evolved within the past 5 months! You could call it a #10XGenAI - just as we predicted, Vimal! 📣 Is #ChatGPT still the #1inGenAI? Maybe not. MS #CoPilot as an integrated toolbox has leapfrogged and has a wide adoption rate simply based on the second-to-none global Microsoft corporate and institutional customer base. 🔔 Who will win the race to #GenAIsupremacy in 2025? I limited it to 15! Nowadays, there are so many more. Now you might have either of three reactions: 1️⃣ Wow, who are all of these LLM's? Should I know all of them? 2️⃣ Wait a minute, you have forgotten another 50 from regions and countries, Markus! 3️⃣ How can I use many of them at once? Good questions! Leaders, dont you think its time to develop a "contextual global AI ethics" model that prioritizes collaboration with local teams and stakeholders ?   Many efforts to build an AI ethics program miss an important fact: ethics differ from one cultural context to the next. Ideas about right and wrong in one culture may not translate to a fundamentally different context, and even when there is alignment, there may well be important differences in the ethical reasoning at work — cultural norms, religious tradition, etc. — that need to be taken into account. Because AI and related data regulations are rarely uniform across geographies, compliance can be difficult. To address this problem, companies need to develop a contextual global AI ethics model that prioritizes collaboration with local teams and stakeholders and devolves decision-making authority to those local teams. This is particularly necessary if their operations span several geographies #AI #AIethics #AIethicsmodel

Innovation needs convictions! How to develop a conviction? Problems, Insights and Hypothesis. Convictions are formed by opinions, opinions are born from hypothesis, hypothesis are drawn from observations and insights... "Sorry we only take cash": ever encountered one of these situations?  That used to drive me absolutely mad (and it still does although in fairness most businesses tend accept cards now). Why? Because: - I don't like to count change, carry coins and bills,  - It's slow an inefficient and adds to queues at cash out - I like to track my spending - The first credit card was invented in 1950 (!), the Diners Club, so by no means using plastic to pay is new...! Frustrations can be a great source of innovation. Frustrations are emotions, but they can get converted into insights and observations. In my case, my frustration led me to work on designing and deploying contactless payment systems across transport and retail on 3 continents for close to ten years! Such a great opportunity to bring convenience to millions of daily commuters and shoppers! How to bring a conviction to life? Leadership, Followers and Execution Leaders need followers to help them achieve their grand plans (most of the time ruthlessly), so they can achieve their goals. They inspire through their charisma or their execution skills to sell their vision to others. That's how they get investors, customers and loyal employees to support their journeys. Amazon's founder Jeff Bezos created the second largest retailer in the world but he was flipping burgers at McDonald's when he was 16. Today, 1 out of every 153 American workers is an Amazon employee! How to allow convictions to emerge in an organization? Frame, Space, and Support. For years, Google used to have the 20% rule for their employees to spend 80% of their time on their job, and 20% on projects of their choice, unrelated to their regular job responsibilities; giving birth to products like Gmail and Google Maps. The lesson is it's not enough to just encourage new ideas. They can only develop and mature into convictions and morph into reality with a framework to institutionalize the creative process end to end. Watched Copilot+PC launch of Microsoft yesterday. My Key takeaways : - Microsoft is not only after AI powered software ecosystem (Azure, Windows etc.) but also hardware ecosystem as well. And they are not shy to go directly after Apple. - I wonder if they will also go after Google Android. This was a lost battle they fought before. I believe it depends on how fast Google can strengthen its current apps with their Gemini vs OpenAI. - Chip manufacturers Qualcom, Intel and AMD are all in with Microsoft like Nvidia for Cloud. - PC OEMs Dell, Asus, Acer, Lenovo, HP are all in with Microsoft despite competing against Surface Pro !!! Hard to imagine how they manage this conflict of interest. - In a nut shell, Microsoft is leveraging an unbelievable synergy of ecosystems both in soft and hardware. As impressive as current breakthroughs are, practical quantum computing seems to be still distant from mainstream adoption. The quantum computing field is experiencing rapid technological progress, with global investments exceeding several billions. Nevertheless, the road to scalable, practical applications remains uncertain, as both technical and talent shortage challenges persist. With heavyweights like 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚, which has invested more than $𝟓𝟓 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧, and 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 committing more than $𝟑 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 to R&D, the global quantum race is intensifying. 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚'𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐦 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (NQM) further signifies how governments are eyeing leadership in this transformative technology. 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝘼𝙄 𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙖 𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘. From the introduction of IoT, big data, and robotics, new technologies have hugely impacted organizational culture. Most recently, GenAI has been injected into the market and while we all hear about its business transformation potential - what about its cultural impact? From 2019 - 2022, Wavestone recorded a 28% - 21% decline in businesses “establishing a data and analytics culture”, indicating a disparity between technological investment and cultural change initiatives. Rising to 43% in 2024 - right after the 2023 GenAI boom - GenAI has taken massive steps in improving the cultural perception around technology. Extensive media coverage has played a pivotal role in GenAI’s social uptake by democratizing information and influencing people to experiment. And with tools like ChatGPT, DALL-E Open Ai, Scribe, etc., being freely accessible to the public it’s unsurprising that GenAI has driven exponential gains in personal productivity. It is clear that GenAI is here to stay and we must envision new strategies and business models that build positive relationships between humans and machines.
