“I worked as Legal Counsel of Air Liquide China and reported to Jean-Michel from 2005 to 2007. Among all of the western (including American, Australian and European) bosses I’ve reported to in the past 13 years, Jean-Michel is one of the best bosses that I’ve ever worked for and ranks the top one in terms of comprehension of China. Jean-Michel is not only business orientated but China business minded. He is a rarity given his deep understanding and fast grasp of the Chinese culture in business and even subtle politics in practice. Great boss is usually detail-oriented yet purpose-driven, and Jean-Michel demonstrated the perfect balance of these two. He is sharp enough to catch any mistakes when you think he may just be having a glance and is also inspiring enough to drive you toward a goal without setting too many boundaries. My organization and presentation skills have also been improved substantially after working for Jean-Michel, which benefited me in my subsequent career development. I left the company for a better career opportunity, but I am so grateful for the professional skills that I acquired when I worked for him and do miss the days working for Jean-Michel and his team.”
