Intriguing and exciting discussion with a colleague! I told him about this paper by Stephane Foucart who explored how religious and economic narratives are intertwined. The paper is in French and here is the gist: Market as a Modern #Myth? Some scholars suggest the language used in #economic #news strangely #resembles religious texts. They see the market as a powerful entity with its own set of "commandments" and "prophets." Is the Market #Divine? ⚖️ This perspective challenges the traditional view of the market as a perfectly self-regulating force. Critics point out historical and contemporary examples where the market hasn't delivered on its promises. Beyond the #Market Gospel? The discussion encourages us to critically examine our economic assumptions.
