🤖 AI Laws in the United States: Are Tougher AI Regulations Really Viable? 🤖 Unlike the EU’s AI Act, the U.S. has no federal AI law, leaving regulation to individual states. For instance, Colorado and Utah have taken starkly different approaches which leads to wonder which one is more effective and on the basis of which criteria this effectiveness is evaluated. 📍 Colorado has introduced a comprehensive framework for high-risk AI, aimed at preventing algorithmic discrimination. While ambitious, the law’s complexity has raised concerns about how workable it really is. 📍 Utah, by contrast, has opted for a lighter, transparency-focused approach, requiring disclosure when generative AI is used in professional services. This allows for greater flexibility but leaves questions around consumer protection. She plays a key role in shaping AI standardisation, responsible AI strategies, and ethical diversity while contributing to global initiatives, including the UN SDGs, AI4Good Summit, and IEEE AI ethics programmes.
