Merci beaucoup Maddyness There’s still a long road ahead and many success stories yet to be written in Italy. Funding rounds help, and so do international investors, but they’re not enough. What we really need are exits, and that’s the big bet for us at 360 Capital and all Italian VC operators in the coming years. At the same time, we can’t just “copy and paste” from other ecosystems like France. Italy, in my view, needs to take a different path. Today, in a context where our fund models are evolving and no longer focused solely on chasing the “fund returner", Italy doesn’t need to focus solely on producing unicorns. We simply don’t have the capacity (in terms of domestic M&A market) to sustain that approach. But we do have the chance to build sustainable and profitable companies, simply more suited to our ecosystem, that can achieve remarkable exits and thrive in the long run. That’s THE reason why, as a young VC investor, I’m placing my bet here in Italy rather than elsewhere. Italian entrepreneurs are as talented as their international peers, they’ve simply had to make it with less capital, fewer resources, and more skepticism from investors. I say it often, and I believe it more every day. 🌍 Major milestone for Energy Dome! The company has signed a strategic commercial agreement with Google, including Google’s first long-duration energy storage project and a strategic investment in the company. Energy Dome’s CO₂ Battery technology will support Google’s goal of achieving 24/7 carbon-free energy by 2030, with projects already underway across Europe, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region.
