Default The thing that makes me the angriest....

I hate when the labels put out a box set of a series like, say, Resident Evil or Spiderman (which I just bought today) and it'll be like "The Spider Man Trilogy" or "Resident Evil Trilogy" boxset.

And it'll have a nice little box and everything looks nice and all.

And then they release the fourth disc, and then suddenly my box set is obsolete.

That makes me mad. They've done this with numerous series, right before they release a fourth movie they'll put out the "TRILOGY" on a special boxset.

I believe they put out Resident Evil 1 and 2 in a collector's set, and then released the third one.

That makes me mad.

Anyone else?

You like the movies enough to buy the box set, so why would you be mad they are making another movie in the series? That makes no sense.

I like it when they continue a series I enjoy. That's just me.

They do that all the time. For instance they have a Harry Potter set with the first 5 movies. I'm not buying it because there will be a total of 8 movies when they finish the 7th book. Since I know that they will put out a giant box set when all is said and done, I choose to wait. Patience my young Padawan

It doesn t make me mad because I think the boxes are a stupid waste of cardboard that make my shelf look not uniform. Just like the sleeves. I take them all off.

But all the Potter films are offered individually---it's not like the incomplete box set is the only way to get the movies, so why get bent out of shape?

I hate it when I can't fit everything in my box. I need a bigger box.

I know what you're saying. Not much to do other than wait out the life of the series if you know how long it will go on, (Harry Potter as an example). Other than that, just have to use your best judgment, no matter how gay. The boxset situation, not your judgment. Although your judgment could be gay, I don't know. If your judgment met my judgment at a bar, would it try to have sex wit my judgment? My judgment doesn't swing that way. Not that there is anything wrong with that. ... I won't judge. Judge not lest ye be judge your yourself. Judge Reinhold. Mock Trial with Judge Reinhold. Arrested Development. Jason Bateman. Starsky and Hutch. Ben Stiller. Tropic Thunder. Tomorrow.

Agree completely. Special packaging is just more landfill.

I think the starter of this thread is more into packaging than enjoying movies (and they probably don't even realize it)

Same here. My 'Harry Potter' collection was so bulky and out of place that I actually went as far as buying 5 Blu-ray cases seperately and printing off my own high quality prints of the individual movie covers in order to make them uniform with the rest of my collection.

That's part of the reason I go out of my way not to buy box-sets. If I do buy one, I try to make sure they are individually packaged. I purchased the Rambo box-set because it was cheaper to get the original 3 that way then it was to buy them seperately. I then took them out of the box, and threw the box away, putting the original 3 with the new Rambo movie. That way all four looked nice and uniform. I am almost always underimpressed with the packaging job done with most box sets, as it throws off the uniform look of my blu's. I've got my Dirty Harry collection put elsewhere away from the rest of my movies, since I can't break that one down, since it has more then just the movies in it. I don't want to throw away the book that came with it, even though I might end up purchasing cases and printing out some covers for the movies, and just sliding the book elsewhere.

This thread is ridiculous, you have more important things to worry and be angry about.

And to those who bought the Harry Potter box set - you knew there was a 6th and 7th film comming so I don't want to hear any complaining about your box set being obsolete.

What I hate is when people have their entire DVD collection on display in their living room, like they want people to be freaking amazed on how much money they've spent on this stuff.

Take the discs out and put them in a case for easier arrangement and cataloging. Is it the movies you love or the costly and wasteful pacakaging?!

In my living room I have mine in a closeable cabinet, so nobody knows they are there. In my bedroom on the other hand, I've got them on display for myself.

I also avoid a case, I did that with CDs, and my cat thought it was a litter box. I didn't even bother tryin to get the smell out and tossed it in the garage (where it is 2 years later). I also don't trust them not to scratch up my DVDs. With Blu's and the resistant coating it might not be as bad, but I'm not taking that chance.
