Barbara Crampton Starring in H.P. Lovecraft Movie from Director Joe Lynch and �Re-Animator� Writer

H.P. Lovecraft�s The Thing On The Doorstep is getting a loose adaptation with an untitled horror movie starring the Queen of Lovecraft, Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, Jakob�s Wife)!

Deadline reports today that principal photography has wrapped on the movie, which also stars Heather Graham (Boogie Nights) and Judah Lewis (The Babysitter).

Coolest of all, the film is directed by Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2, Mayhem, �Creepshow�)! But this news gets even better, as two more Lovecraft veterans are also on board.

Brian Yuzna (Re-Animator) executive produced, with Crampton also producing. And the film�s script was written by Dennis Paoli, the writer of Re-Animator and From Beyond!

Both films, of course, were Lovecraft adaptations, and Crampton starred in both. With Paoli, Yuzna, Crampton, and Lynch all involved, this new one could be something very special!

The site details, �the film is an erotic body-swapping horror, in which a psychiatrist played by Graham becomes obsessed with a young client with multiple personalities.�

Bruce Davison (X-Men) and Johnathon Schaech (That Thing You Do!) also star.

Lynch said in a statement, �When I read Dennis Paoli�s adaptation of the story, I felt like there was a fantastic opportunity to update and subvert Lovecraft�s often old-fashioned sensibilities in a way that felt modern, relevant and even dangerous, with a pinch of 90�s neo-noir and a dash of eroticism to spice up the stew. Working with Amp and such a fantastic cast � including Heather, Judah, Barbara, Bruce and Johnathon � we�re so excited that this sexy, funny, scary film isn�t just a modernized love letter to Lovecraft, but the kind of provocatively entertaining �sin-ema� I believe audiences are salivating for!�
