One of the saddest things about this film is that it took a title known for only the greatest of successes in the history of film and sandbagged it with flop associations. Not the way to enrich the value of your legacy franchises.

If we follow box office logic, then the box office of The Lion King shows what a great film it is. Every single box office comment praising and bashing a movie is pointless. Here the box office only shows how huge the hate was. Rationally speaking, this was another so so movie that followed the Disney formula in every live action version so far. Completely pointless as the hate it created. And it actually shows the hypocrisy of the haters. Everyone hates these movie adaptations and points to the box office failure as the reason for how bad they are, and then Lilo and Stitch comes along and everyone rushes to the theaters.

As for Box office logic, the results can be hit and miss to say the least. After all Blade Runner and The Thing flopped.. But look at the top ten biggest hits and to my mind there are at least six classics. Look at the ten biggest flops and to me that�s a list of ten shit films.

Maybe Gal or Zegler will win an Oscar one day and this film will be looked back on as a diamond in the rough just like Gigli.
