Jeff Bezos

- Company/AffiliationAmazon
- TitleChairman and Founder
For nearly three decades, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos worked as the retail giant’s all-powerful chief executive. In his new phase of life, Bezos oversees the squad of CEOs who operate his various companies, including Amazon, the Blue Origin rocket company, the Washington Post, and the Bezos Earth Fund. There’s a lot going on. Blue Origin completed its first passenger expedition in almost two years, with 90-year-old Ed Wright becoming the oldest person ever to reach space, while the $10 billion Earth Fund has been steadily putting its money to work, including a $100 million allotment for new, AI-powered climate solutions. Throughout it all, Amazon’s stock jumped 25% through mid-October, helping boost Bezos’s wealth to $212 billion, according to a Bloomberg estimate. That marks a personal fortune only surpassed by space race rival Elon Musk. And, yes, Bezos made time to host some of the world’s most famous celebrities on his $400 million Koru superyacht, and swung by the Vatican for a visit with Pope Francis.
