A Pensacola man was sentenced to more than two decades in prison after pleading no contest to charges of possessing images of children and animals being sexually abused.

Samuel Bargerhuff, 33, was sentenced to 21 years in Florida state prison followed by 15 years of sex offender probation on charges of possession of child sexual abuse material, possession of images of animal sexual activity, and use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony, a news release from the State Attorney's Office said.

In August of 2023, The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children got a tip that child sexual abuse material was being uploaded from a MediaLab/Kik account.

On May 24, 2024, a search warrant was executed at the Bargerhuff’s home, and multiple electronic devices belonging to Bargerhuff were seized, the news release said. Electronic forensic investigations revealed that several devices in his room contained images of child sexual abuse and sexual abuse of a dog.

According to Bargerhuff's arrest report, investigators observed approximately 17 media files that depicted the sexual abuse of children who appeared to be as young as 3-years old. They reportedly also found three media files depicting "an individual fondling the sexual organs of a small white dog."

Court records indicated Bargerhuff entered his plea of no contest in March, and he was sentenced Circuit Court Judge John Miller on April 16.
