More specifically, we consider the possible existence of isochoric solutions. In contrast to the corresponding problem for isotropic materials, for which such solutions do not exist for a compressible material, we determine conditions on the form of the strain-energy function for which isochoric solutions are possible. The results are illustrated for particular classes of energy function. date: 2007 date_type: published publisher: University of Salento id_number: 10.1285/i15900932v27n2p131 prior: First published in Note di Matematica 27(2):131-154 repro: Reproduced under a Creative Commons License uniqueid: glaseprints:2007-70335 issn_online: 1590-0932 full_text_status: public publication: Note di Matematica volume: 27 number: 2 pagerange: 131-154 refereed: TRUE issn: 1123-2536 hoa_compliant: 305 hoa_date_pub: 2007 hoa_exclude: FALSE hoa_gold: FALSE citation: Kassianidid, F. and Ogden, R.
