A lengthy welcome

Hi ZanderAlbatraz1145 . Welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily in collaboration.

Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.

If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.

Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.

If you work from reliable, independent sources, you shouldn't go far wrong. WP:RSP and WP:RSN are helpful in determining if a source is reliable.

If you find yourself in a disagreement with another editor, it's best to discuss the matter on the relevant talk page.

Hello, I've redirected the page, that had been Prodded, to an existing draft. Please consider merging everything that's useful into the draft and editing the draft until better decisions are taken. If you wish to revert and rework on the page, I personally don't mind but then please leave a note on the draft's Talk page, and have a look at what you can merge from there so that duplicate work is not done. This paragraph seems redundant and therefore unnecessary though:

This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

We'll let the big cats decide that. For now— everyone seems to have missed my main point, which was not to be disruptive, but to point out something that most people are overlooking. Why should I have to put in the extra effort to point it out? You have the problem with it, you create the discussion page, and I'll gladly join in, I'm not wasting anymore time on it. The core of my point was that Scorsese's mentioning the article does not add anything. That's why I referred to him as a clown. Why should anyone care what he has to say other than the fact that he's Martin Scorsese? It would be one thing, even, if his own films alluded to Hitchcock's films in any way, or had obvious influence, and that was displayed in the article somewhere, but that is not the case. He gives his own interpretation of the music, which is an interpretation because, again, he was not involved in the making of it at all. They can be deleted at anyone's courtesy ONCE they enter production. That seems fair to me, and is no different from any other Unrealized Project page. It's a way of being or trying to be completist with these lists and to curate a vast number of these, to develop a catalogue, because I know no one else will. And before you throw the "B" word at me again (Badfaith), believe me when I say that no one else has taken after these Unrealized Projects pages like I have. Look at any one of them and see how much I've contributed to them. I'm not one to boast, but in this context, I believe it's completely valid and true. So, how about YOU assume good faith, and believe that I will delete this THE MINUTE either one enters production (as I've done on countless other sections of countless other pages-- P.S. if you want to be a pain in the ass, let me know if you would like specific examples). And your efforts are appreciated on those pages, but you're really stretching the definition of unrealized. The opening sentence for the page literally states "The following is a list of unproduced Luca Guadagnino projects". We're literally getting casting news for his American Psycho movie just today. That's not unproduced, that's not unrealized, it's still being worked on. To include them here is to jump the gun and assume they won't be made, and thus run in defiance of what the point of the article is. All the details about these films can be found at Draft:Sgt. Rock (film) and Draft:American Psycho (upcoming film) respectively. And should there be a report that the film is dead or Guadagnino left it, we can easily just add them back in. Not EVERY detail is on either of those draft pages, there were more details/specificities in the two paragraphs on the Unrealized Projects page in question. It is more important, I'd say, to be more detailed for Unrealized Projects, because say they aren't made-- well usually someone adds a one-sentence description. Now what good is that? I don't see the harm in including them, because seriously what will it change? They aren't "made" now, and there isn't a page for projects he IS working on, so let's stick them there until they are made. I've done this with many pages with no problem until now. Let me add something else you may not be privy to, that I'd forgotten to mention. VERY rarely is there ever an official report that as you said a "film is dead" or someone "left it". In fact, I'd say 10-15% of the time there is, and usually if that's the case it's buried within some article that has nothing related to that actual film, such as was the case with Todd Solondz's LOVE CHILD, in which a NY profile on Solondz updated in a small blurb that the project wasn't happening. I curate and add these so they are not forgotten. If someone else would like to step up and take the reigns and keep track of everything, what gets made, what doesn't get made, what films haven't been heard about in years, then they can gladly be my guest because it's not easy. All this to say that you'll "easily just add them back in" if and only "should there be a report that the film is dead"-- so you're saying that's the only case in which you'll add the film?! The article contains multiple sources about Guadagnino talking about a project being killed or reports about him leaving. And there's also entries about films that got announced but never saw anything else announced about it. This still doesn't mean Sgt. Rock and American Psycho presently count. I do not see why this is such a problem. their inclusion is nonsensical. The page is not meant to highlight all his dead/abandoned AND current projects, it's just about the dead/abandoned ones. As a matter of fact, I only count 5-6 that have a ref saying Guadagnino left or the project was cancelled out of a collective 21, if you want to really get specific and talk numbers. And I'm saying, collectively, across the board, you don't usually hear about what the reason was as to why this or that film did not come to fruition. That's just a fact. And, therefore, I think that it's "nonsensical" to say that you'll only add the projects back if and only IF "there [should] be a report that the film is dead". If they have questioned it, once I've explained it to them that it will be removed once the film enters production, then they understood and just let it be.
