My recap of #TAGPrague, the Fall 2024 International Conference of TAG Alliances (TAGLaw, TIAG, TAG-SP) - one of the world’s largest multidisciplinary alliances of independent professional services firms, with 290+ member firms operating in 110+ countries:
🌍 LEADELL Pilv Law Office, the Estonian law firm among LEADELL Law Offices has been a member of the alliance for over 20 years - and we were glad to receive a nice reminder of this cooperation. Thank you!
🌍 After the president and CEO of the alliance, Richard Attisha, shared welcoming words, we first learned from Jan Muehlfeit how to unlock human potential in our firms and in ourselves - will do!
🌍 No doubt, one of my favourite panels was on the impacts of using #AI in legal work - thanks to Olivier Sasserath, Marko Porobija and André Haug for the overview and perspectives to think of. Good point, Marko, that it is not AI but copy-paste function that has been the greatest technical tool for lawyers over the last 50 years!
🌍 Day one ending with gala dinner at Obecni Dum and follow-up networking in different formats (chatting on the streets and bars, dancing with "wooden leg", solidarity in changing venues if one of us has to go...) - getting to know the person behind colleagues all over the world is the basis and core of good and efficient cooperation as lawyers acting for your client - this is where you build the #trust that can be forwarded to your clients in a way more serious context.
🌍 Day two starting with energetic suggestions of Itzik Amiel, surely ideas on legal business development to follow and try out! The panel on cross-border litigation and ADR highlighted that civil and common law approaches, even on legal ethics, might differ and one should keep that in mind.
👗 Thanks Lenka Gomez Tomcalova and later Jennifer Clarke for also bringing out the female (professional!) voice on the stage amongst the rather male dominance!
🗺️ Was glad to meet up with colleagues from neighbouring Finland (Miika Erkkilä), Sweden (Charlotte Andersson and Viviénne Dahlstrand) and Denmark (Anders Aagaard), reflect with people further away (e.g. Günes Güntekin, Frank Sanders, Dr. Eberhard Koch, Christian Farrugia, Gijs in 't Veld, Emanuel Dettwiler, Frédéric Rochat, Bernhard Welten) and get to know those who had to ✈️ way more, Gareth C., Rodney D'Cruz, Pablo D. Brusco, Koji Kanazawa and Amit Maheshwari amongst others..
🏰 Last but not least, thanks to the Czech member Z/C/H Legal (incl. Lenka and JUDr. Lukas Zacek) for all their efforts in organising and welcoming us!
🙏 Thanks to those who read it to the end - you are welcome to correct in comments on what I have mistakenly left our or otherwise!
