
EUNICE SARI
I am a UX designer and ICT in education specialist with more than a decade of working experience in academia and industries in Europe and Asia Pacific. With extensive education and industrial backgrounds in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Language and Education, my passion is to connect these dots in order to effect change in life.
I earned my PhD in Education from Edith Cowan University, where I conducted my research on an online learning community to support ongoing professional development of in-service teachers in Indonesia. This community of practice was later founded as an independent entity under the name OLC4TPD (elearning.olc4tpd.com). I am currently completing my second doctoral study at Media Lab, Aalto University in Finland where I have been conducting my research on HCI for development.
I have internationally published book chapters, journals, conference papers and have actively delivered talks in various events in the Europe and Asia Pacific. I am also a member of international editorial review boards from several international journals as well as conference reviewer.
My research interests lie primarily in the area of Online Learning, Social Learning, Social Media, Instructional Design, HCI, Participatory Design, Mobile Technology, Online Community and ICT for Development.

challenges of the existing teacher professional development in the country, a technology-based concept of ongoing TPD framework was introduced with reference to existing literatures and trends. A full cycle of DBR procedures was conducted to intervene in the existing practice, which resulted in the formation of the online community of
practice of educators. This online community has reached out to teachers from different places in the country and engaged them in the process of knowledge building and sharing through online and face-to-face interaction. played a key role in design decisions. During the third
intervention, Facebook was employed as the main design
artifact to engage stakeholders in reflective action and
critical reflection. The implementation of Facebook was
contextualised to the socio-cultural settings of Indonesia.
This paper reports several findings related to stakeholder
participation in this study, i.e. online membership and
online interaction.
scenario-based design is notorious for its shortcoming in the term of resources utilisation. Pair Writing is a resourceeffective
technique that aims to support design collaboration of diverse stakeholders. The technique is designed and developed to tackle the issues of resources utilisation and communication problems. Designed as a game, Pair Writing facilitates the meeting between the language games. Reflecting on the technique, the poster will present the results of several Pair Writing workshop sessions in the form of a comparative analysis, personas and context scenarios.

economic wheels in Indonesia are magically still spinning. Even though the growth of the IT industry has given a
significant boost to the awareness of usability, the usability practice has not reached the point of critical mass in
Indonesia. Within the framework of Hofstede's cultural dimensions, an analysis of several case studies will provide a
showcase of usability practice in Indonesia as a part of Asia regional culture. Furthermore, a discussion of some
current challenges and potential threats for the practice of usability in Indonesia will provide some insights for
further strategic development of usability in Indonesia in particular and Asia region in general.
