The Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFCs) are transforming India’s logistics landscape by providing faster and more efficient transportation of goods. However, to unlock their full potential, the connecting infrastructure with the Indian Railway network needs to upgrade to DFC standards.
Two decades ago, the vision for the Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFCs) was set in to enhance freight transport efficiency and speed. Most importantly, the DFCs could ease congestion on India’s overburdened railway network, along the Golden Quadrilateral (GQ) route that links the four metropolitan cities Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Howrah and its two diagonals (Delhi-Chennai and Mumbai-Howrah).
