Precious memories - Patricia Basson

Good day friends here at the beginning of Autumn in South Africa. Trees are slowly starting to throw their leaves which are starting to change into my favorite Fall colours of Browns, Orange and Yellows. I just love this time of Year as it tends to enfold me with a sense of calmness and peace....Hence my DT page for Dusty Attic is done in these colours...
I have used papers from 49 & Market's Vintage Artistry in the Leaves collection.

As usual all my chipboards were primed with white Gesso. On the Corner Flourish I applied some Paper Paste to add dimension. I then painted with Buttermilk Acrylic paint from Deco Art as well as Cheddar Gloss spray from Dina Wakley and Peppermint Stick Distress Mica Stain.
The Winter Corner was painted with Cappuccino Paint from Stamperia with a little darker Brown paint. I used Emerald Isle Infusion Powder mixed with water to paint the Acorn and highlighted the raised areas with some white Gesso.

The Page Pebbles and Creative Scripts were also painted with the Cheddar Paint and Mica Stain. I also embossed them with two layers of Clear UTEE powder.
The Quoted Sentiments got some of the Infusion ink on the edges with double UTEE embossing as well.

The Fancy Trim, Word Pack and Mini Words pieces are also painted with the above mentioned Paints but are not Embossed.
I randomly added Crushed Ice Effect Paste to the page for a little sparkly effect!

All these and many more amazing Chipboards are available in the Dusty Attic on-line shop

Thank you, hope you enjoyed my page....

The year is a book, isn't it...?
Spring's pages are written in Mayflowers and violets,
 summer's in roses,
autumn's in red maple leaves,
and winter in holly and evergreen.

Awesome - Deb Stephens

Hi everyone! Have you enjoyed seeing all the wonderful creations this month by the Dusty Team? I know I have. But some days I just want to keep it simple and easy.

I didn't have any patterned paper on hand when I started the layout for these photos of my son with his Marvel Avengers Idol, Iron man. using a 12x12 black piece of cardstock and stencils DA1495 – cityscape and DA1763 – Starry Night
to start using texture paste and paint through for the background.

I then stamped some superhero themes speech bubbles and phrases around the page. Chipboard used was DA2858 Techno Circles- Small, DA2441 – stars #4 and sentiment DA0726- Anyone can be cool. These were embossed and filled with waxed crayon for contrast.
I was pleased with the end result, considering the limited paper options I had, proving you can complete a layout without having to buy out a shop (although, that is fun too right lol?)

Dusty Attic Retreat vibes - Deb Stephens

For those of you that have been to a Dusty Attic Retreat, you would know how much fun they are! The last one was in December 2022 and it was a Santa's Workshop Christmas theme with lots of costumes made and paraded. Funny photos were taken and lots of laughs needed to be remembered and what better way to do it then using some Dusty Attic Chipboard 49&Market Holiday Wishes range of papers and embellishments!

The layout comes together with some DA0932 Polaroid Frames and DA2454 Polaroid Frame Set #1 that were painted and then had Christmas Mini Sentiments stamped and embossed on them.
DA0666 Bookman ABC Set (Lowercase) and DA2826 Retreat vibes sentiment was painted and glossed, along with some stars from DA2441 Stars #4 set.
DA3163 Gingerbread houses small were also painted and waxed with white wax so that it filled the lasered areas of the chipboard. These were then embellished with mini peppermint and snowflake embellishments.
DA 3141 Holly #4 was painted and parts waxed and glossed as well. The layout was finished off with coloured mini glass pebbles and drops of glittery stickles.
Below is a snapshot of the Dusty Attic Chipboard used in this project. I hope it inspires you to get out your Christmas Photos and scrap them! Until next time Dusty Fanatics, take care!

Love these Photos - Adri Du Preez

Hello everyone!

I am sharing my October design team layout with you, using stunning Dusty Attic chipboard pieces.

For this layout, I used pattern paper from the Vintage Artistry Serenity collection from 49 and Market 49 and Market and Ephemera bits and rub-ons from various other 49 and Market collections.

These photos are of my daughter and the famous teddy.

All the chippies were first covered with a layer of white gesso.

Chipboard pieces were painted with Americana Acrylic paint.

The scalloped circle and title were painted with Whispering Turquoise and dry brushed
with white acrylic paint. On the scalloped circle I used a stamp and added a few rub-ons.

The foliage DA2783 (leaves) was painted with Mint Julep Green and dry brushed with
 white acrylic paint.

I painted the foliage DA2238 with Coral 'n Peaches and Cream and dry brushed it
with white acrylic paint.

The botanic runners were painted with Uniform and Whispering Turquoise, cut in half,
and tuck into the flower clusters.

The two mini titles were painted with white acrylic paint.
