Compensation days are meant to encourage people to be active in the community. If you want to participate in something at Codam but the only reason you don’t do it is because you feel stressed about your deadline, you can request compensation days to take some of that stress away. 

Do not use this form for Compensation days that are given to the entire school or an entire cohort. We will add those to everyone's intra automatically. 

But in all other cases: if you need Compensation days, you have to request them through the form. If you do something for Codam but you don't actually need compensation days, simply don’t request them and nothing happens… :)  

During your whole curriculum you can request a maximum of 99 Compensation days. 

Compensation days are for: 

● when you actively contribute to the Codam community, for example: 

○ helping at Open Days

○ organising events

○ helping at events

○ CATting

○ Student Council membership

○ promoting Codam

○ attending events

● when Codam does something that prevents you from working on the curriculum, for  example: 

○ school closure for maintenance or holidays

○ technical difficulties

○ logistical mistakes

When requesting you estimate yourself how much time the activity took you, and how many days of deadline extension you request. Roughly - for every 8 hours of activity you request one compensation day. Sometimes we will give an indication for how many compensation days are reasonable for an event, but most of the time we just trust you to make a realistic estimate.
