Screw Code Assessments

I hate code assessments. Job interviews should not throw you to the wolves and ask you to complete 6+ coding challenges in an hour with no documentation. That is not how coding is done and it will never be done that way.

To that extent, I have created a free and opensource version of the now infamous InterviewCoder software that has been making the rounds on Twitter. Feel free to use it how you see fit and/or improve on it.

Ha! Nice! Maybe these kinds of assesments will finally die out. They had no real business existing in the first place. Employers should assess candidates based on the quality of their portfolio. If you can't see competence through Github, Stackoverflow, here, etc then just move on to the next candidate. Maybe the next tool should have bots that apply to jobs and take the tests all the way up to the first in-person interview before revealing the ruse 🀣
