EXCLUSIVE: Here’s a fun casting update. On the day she was announced for Glastonbury, we can reveal that Charli XCX is being eyed to join Greta Gerwig and Netflix‘s anticipated Narnia film.
The multiple Grammy winner is understood to be among top choices for a key role and there have been talks for a little while, but nothing is set at the moment. TBC whether a deal comes to fruition.
Who might she play in a Narnia movie if a deal makes? We hear it potentially could be Jadis, The White Witch.

In 2018, Netflix announced it would develop new series and film projects based on C.S. Lewis’ beloved The Chronicles of Narnia series and brought Gerwig on board in 2020 to adapt and direct. It remains in early stages, and details are scant. As previously reported, the movie is getting an exclusive two-week Imax global run for Thanksgiving 2026 in advance of the pic’s drop on the streamer.

This is Gerwig’s follow-up to delivering Warner Bros its highest-grossing movie ever, Barbie ($1.44 billion), which also scored an Oscar win for Billie Eilish and Finneas’ original song “What Was I Made For?” Charli XCX’s song “Speed Drive” also was part of the film’s soundtrack. It’s unclear whether there would be a musical component to any Narnia contribution from the singer and actress.

Netflix and reps for Charli XCX declined comment.
