Details

What you should know. Cast on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, bind off, sewing. Before you start Please read the whole pattern carefully and knit a gauge swatch before beginning. All stitches and rows are specified in XS S M L XL. For details please check the measurement-chart or the drawing. Codes: M = stitch, R = row , SS = selvedge stitch Adapt the pattern breast / waist / hips / length Before you adapt, read the whole pattern. For a smaller size XXS just knit 2 rows less of the raglan, for bigger size XXL knit 2 rows more. This will minimize/extend the body about 4st and each arm about 2st. In case you wish a wider waist please choose the size that matches with your breast and reduce the decreases for the waist (4x each 8. R or 3x each 10.R , then knit straight until waist). For the hips you might do the same more increases: 4x each 4.+3x each 6. = 4st more in total 6x each 4. R + 2x each 6. = 8st more in total less increases: 2x each 6. And 2x each 8. Or 4x each 8. If you dont like any shaping you knit completely straight down from armhole on.

Rib pattern Cast on, then purl 5 R, then reversed stockinette, knit ribs after 8 / 6 / 4 / 4 rows. Here the raglan starts. Then the collar turns around means the appearance of reversed stockinette turns into normal stockinette with ribs after 2 / 2 / 4 / 4 / 6 / 6 / 8 rows (see diagram). Front facings For the front facing purl 3 stitches before and after the selvedge stitch.

Button holes Knit a button hole on the right hand side, ensuing the facing. S, M, L: after 7/9/10 R, then each 16 R L, XL: after 3/5 R, then each 18 R Adapt the size of the button holes to your buttons, they should be apparently smaller. Knitted button holes tend to stretch.

4 Collar to start with . Cast on 94 M and knit the rib pattern as mentioned above and shown in the chart. At once purl 3 stitches before and after the selvedge stitch for the front facings. At once Knit the first button hole on the right hand side S, M, L: after 7/9/10 R, then each 16 R L, XL: after 3/5 R, then each 18 R Start the raglan line after 27 R .

Raglan / Schulterpasse Divide the 94 M as follows and set markers: 19 M 3M 7M 3M 30 M 3M 7M 3M 19 M SS, facing, front part raglan-line sleeve raglan-line back raglan-line sleeve raglan-line front, part, facing, SS

For the raglan double each 2nd row every 1st and 3rd stitch of the raglan line, so you increase 8 M each time. At once continue the rib pattern (ribs after 2 / 2 / 4 / 4 / 6 / 8 R) but only until the raglan lines on the front part. At once knit button holes every 16 / 18 R. After 38-42-44-48-52 R you finished the raglan. Here the work will be separated in sleeves and body.

Body Separate the work as follows: Knit 41-43-44-46-48 M for the front part, Place 45-49-51-55-59 M on yarn or helping needle, Cast on 6 M (for the arm hole, better latitude) Knit 74-78-80-84-88 M for the back part, , Place 45-49-51-55-59 M on yarn or helping needle, Cast on 6 M (for the arm hole, better latitude) Knit 41-43-44-46-48 M for the front part. Then knit the body. Place markers on both sides under the arm hole and decrease 6x in each 6. R always 2 M (1 M before and 1 M after the marker) until waist = 36R. At once knit button holes every 16 / 18 R. Sleeves For the waist line purl 1R, then purl after 4 and again after 4 R (see chart).

Then increase for the hips: 1x in the following R, then 1xafter 4 R 2x after 6 R 2x after 8 R Then knit the cuff as follows: Purl 1R, then purl after 8 R and again after 4 R. Bind off with knit stitch (see chart for cuffs).

Pick up the 45-49-51-55-59 M that you have laid down and cast on additional 4 M on each side. Knit stockinette and decrease on both sides 1 M 10x-10x-11x-11x-12x after 8 R. (=80-80-88-88-96 R) Then knit the cuff as follows: Purl 1R, then purl after 8 R and again after 4 R. Bind off with knit stitch (see chart for cuffs).

Alternative: If you prefer knitting in the round (like socks, with double-pointed needles) you can knit the sleeves seamless. In this case you cast on 3 M on each side, join the round and set a marker in between. Decrease 1 M before and 1 M after the marker.

Knit the 2nd sleeve in the same way.

6 Finishing

Pockets Cast on 19 M and knit 19 R stockinette. anschlagen und 19 R glatt rechts stricken. Purl 1R, then purl after 8 R and again after 4 R. Bind off with knit stitch (see chart for cuffs).

Finishing Close the sleeves (if not knit in the round). Weave in all ends. Sew on the pockets. Sew on the buttons. and enjoy wearing your new jacket !

Tips Selvage stitch Slip purlwise the last stitch at the end of the row (even in knitted rows), turn and prick the first stitch purlwise and knit it. Then follow the pattern.
