And in the studio I stumble over my words or make changes to the text and have to start again. Is it frustrating at times? Oh yes! PPI 54: Strengths Spotting & Strengths Collaboration My name is Eva Katharina Herber. I'm #German, but I've been living in #Spain for 20 years. And I'm a positive #psychologist, I think that's the best description. I'm a #therapist, strength-based #coach, and #educator. So what does positive psychology mean to you?  It’s the #science of everything that makes life great, and really looking at the other side of the human experience, right? Not just #anxiety, #depression, which is the first thing I studied as a psychologist, but all the good things, all the good things. And what psychological intervention would you say has had the greatest impact on your life? Well, for me, that was #strengths spotting, totally. Really, it wasn't love at first sight, the whole strength thing, because I didn't get it. It was really when I dived deeper and realised, "Okay, wow!", so here I start to spot some strength in the people around me - when you really get what your strengths mean and how they interact. And I think both those positive synergy effects that you can enter when you #collaborate with people with different strengths or just your husband and kids and friends - it's opened a total new world! So that's totally my thing. So for the #community then, what positive psychology intervention do you think makes the biggest difference in your community?  I think it would be to really come together and contribute from that place of our #strength and #authenticity. So back to this, what can we all bring in to the community? I think it's that focus back to the we. And by bringing together those differences, I think that's the key aspect, that we are different. Thank God! And a one-line message of hope for the world? #BreathworkStories 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 experiment. 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐧? I am changing up the #Breathwork stories format for a while. Every Wednesday I'll be inviting you to a simple breath+experiment for a personal insight: your breathwork story. For today’s experiment I invite you to: 🫁𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 10 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡. If your lungs were a bucket you would fill it more than ⅔ with every breath.   How do you feel? A little dizzy? Out of breath? Here’s what just happened: fast breathing didn’t give you “too much oxygen”, as you might sometimes hear. It actually created an oxygen deficit. Really? Yes. Without getting into the rabbit hole of biochemistry, let me put it like this. When we breathe faster than “optimal” the oxygen we inhale goes in and out without  getting to your tissues and organs. Including our idol—the brain. 📚I remember I was shocked to find out during my Oxygen Advantage Instructor training that 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐱𝐲𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨 60%(!!!) - Foggy thinking   - Low energy   - Poor focus   - Reactive decisions What are the chances that “stressed faster breathing” is behind those? Yes, stressed does it too. You know when something knocks us out of balance and we never fully gain it back. Never fully calm, focused, and present. And supporting the gray, on-the-anxious-side zone is the rushed chest-and-shoulder breath.  I can't tell you how many times it was the case. Call to action for your personal breathwork story. It’s summertime ☀️ I’m currently in Austria and flowers are blooming everywhere😀 Do you know why humans react so positively to flowers? Research has shown that having a bunch of beautiful flowers around triggers happy emotions and helps lift feelings of depression and anxiety. But why do humans react so well to flowers you ask? Well, for more than 5000 years people have been cultivating flowers for their aesthetic and medicinal purposes as well as the chemical effect they have on us. When we're stressed we release something called cortisol this is the stress hormone but actually engaging with flowers, smelling flowers and being mindful with flowers can actually reduce the levels of cortisol and help you feel more relaxed. Flowers are known to stimulate several chemicals like dopamine, oxytocin and serotonin in our brains. These are the ‘happy’ chemicals. And whenever we see or receive some pretty flowers our brain instantly recognises that as a good, rewarding thing. Basically, it’s better than chocolate 😜😜when looking at some beautiful bouquets! So go and pick flowers or buy beautiful ones and spread good vibrations 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷 #physicalintelligence #happyhormones #roomtotalkinternational

Think about something that really motivates you and that you do easily.  For me, it's taking care of my cat Eva. I want her to be healthy for as long as possible (more snuggles for me, yay!).  That same motivation also helps me stick to my diet.  It's all about wanting the best for Future Me.  Just like I want Eva to feel good, I want to feel good too, especially as I age.  And with my grandma being 105 years young (!), I'm aiming for that longevity too! So here are 3 simple tips to stay on your diet: 1. Find Your “Why”: Think about what motivates you. Is it your family, your health, or your future goals? Write it down and keep it visible. 2. Plan Realistically: Choose a diet that fits your lifestyle with foods you like. 3. Celebrate Small Wins: Each time you stick to your diet, celebrate with a small reward, an affirmation, or a fun activity. Here are some clients’ stories for inspiration: - C focused on natural foods and dropped her medication. - A learned to say no to dessert instead of doing like others. - V improved her gut health with new eating habits. - A managed her urges for bread even in France! - N learned to stop at just a few peanuts. - L made her Jenga tower taller each time she managed a craving. Yesterday, I attended the insightful webinar "The 3 A's of Coaching: Adjectives, Adverbs, and Absolutes". It was a powerful reminder of the idea that "words create worlds" (not my words, but Daniel Olexa, MCC, CIHt's) and how, as coaches, we can reach new levels of awareness by focusing on and exploring how clients qualify their reality and goals. One key takeaway for me was the immense power that words have. By paying attention to the qualifiers our clients use, we can open doors to deeper exploration. It struck me how sometimes clients can feel blocked when directly asked about their goals or issues. However, by probing into the why and what for behind the adjectives, adverbs, and absolutes they use, we can bypass their defenses and help them access insights they might not have reached otherwise. This webinar resonated with me not only as a coach but also as a translator. The power of words has always fascinated me, and this session reinforced how crucial language is in our work! A big thank you to Daniel Olexa, MCC, CIHt, Heike Aiello and ICF Germany Charter Chapter e.V. for organizing and delivering such a valuable session. It was truly enlightening and it felt very short! (Now I am going to count how many qualifiers I have just used 😂 )

A NEW PERSPECTIVE FOR THRIVING IN A DISRUPTED WORLD I’m very happy to announce the publication of our new book: THE COSMIC LENS - Seven Steps to Handling Uncertainty with Grace and Co-creating a Livable 21st Century Coauthored with Dr. Birgit Viertlböck from Germany. She’s a trauma expert and as such she totally compliments my skill set, which is environmental and cosmological. Also, we feel there is much value in living the cocreative dance between masculine and feminine, through our cooperation. The result is a unique book and a brand new approach. Many high-ticket coaches and consultants rely on their "𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲" and unknowingly make three mistakes that keep them invisible to the ideal clients they want to connect with on LinkedIn. Here they are: 1️⃣ 𝗩𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲: Your headline says something like “𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘊𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩 | 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘳 | 𝘊𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘦 𝘌𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘴𝘵 | 𝘈𝘷𝘪𝘥 𝘚𝘬𝘪𝘦𝘳,” and your summary is a list of credentials from past employers. Your audience reads your posts and thinks, “𝘊𝘰𝘰𝘭” but not "𝘞𝘖𝘞! 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯!" 3️⃣ 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: You’re commenting on random posts, liking things here and there, and hoping it leads somewhere. Where now they say, "𝘞𝘖𝘞!
