How can we leverage digital #platforming and network effects to create value for our customers and partners? 2. How can we accelerate the energy transition and empower the rise of #prosumers, who both consume and produce energy? 3. How can we provision #AI sustainably in data centers, today and in the future? I was impressed by the curiosity, engagement, and all the thoughtful questions. If you’re unfamiliar with BANI, don’t worry – I just discovered it myself during an inspiring presentation by Franziska Gerner 💚🧑🏼‍💻 at a LinkedIn local event in Nürnberg. Franziska, who spearheads digital transformation at Schaeffler (an automotive industry supplier), shared captivating insights about her role and experiences. Now, let’s delve into BANI, an acronym we’ve grown to appreciate: 🔹 B – Brittle: Acknowledging that systems can break unexpectedly. 🔹 A – Anxious: Recognizing the emotional impact of uncertainty. 🔹 N – Nonlinear: Embracing complexity and interconnectedness. 🔹 I – Incomprehensible: Adapting to the ever-evolving landscape. While VUCA describes the current state of unpredictability, BANI shifts our focus to how employees cope with change. It’s not just about the situation; it’s about empowering individuals to thrive amidst uncertainty. 🌟 Reflecting on an Invaluable Experience with "Seitenwechsel" 🌟   Starting of this month, I stepped out of my daily business routine at #Siemens to embark on a journey that has profoundly impacted my perspective on leadership and the social fabric of our community. I participated in the remarkable #Seitenwechsel project, an initiative where professionals from various industries immerse themselves in social work environments.   ✨ I had the privilege of working alongside the dedicated team at #Condrobs in Munich, an organization that extends a supportive hand to individuals struggling with addiction. My time there wasn't just about lending a hand; it was a profound educational journey. Engaging with the resilient team at Condrobs taught me that leadership isn't just about guiding a team towards success—it's about doing so with genuine empathy and understanding.   🌱 The experience opened my eyes to the crucial role that social workers play in stitching the fabric of our society. Each day, they make tangible impacts on the lives of many. Entrepreneurship … … is sometimes also about working hard “in the trenches”. 😉 It was great being at Technical University of Munich Entrepreneurship Day (again). I did not only learn, that about 80 startups are founded every year within the TUM #ecosystem, but also that this makes TUM the largest B2B start-up hub in Germany! Of course, I took the opportunity to talk with Sebastian Wann Luca Fabiano Abdullah Ghazi from Muniqo Performante. Actually, they are now in a crucial phase. They passed the ideation phase and are leaving the trenches by validating their concept with customers. This includes not only technical questions, but even more importantly the #businessmodel and go-to-market. Results are really promising. 😀 BTW: Here is, what they are doing: Based their advanced technology, they are offering active damper systems (in contrast to classic passive systems), Besides much higher precision and speed, this allows for real-time data collection, which is of the essence for application e.g. in mobility and production.

The core issue lies in unoptimized processes and unclear goals for data collection. Often, data becomes an end in itself, serving no meaningful purpose. This leads to inefficiency and frustration, turning what could have been transformative into a missed opportunity. But here’s a counterexample that showcases what you can achieve with the right approach to digitalization and data: Plataine AI software. Coming home for Christmas? 🎄🎅 For many years, I commuted almost weekly from my hometown Dresden to southern and northern Germany for work, spending countless hours on highways. This remains the reality for hundreds of thousands of employees who regularly commute from eastern to western Germany. 💡 As many former residents return home for the Christmas season, we would like to make them more receptive to the idea of moving back permanently. That’s why we launched a multi-channel campaign today with focus on technical related jobs GlobalFoundries. The several different wordings would likely appeal to those tired of long commutes and seeking a better work-life balance. It taps into the emotional desire to stay close to home, family and friends while pursuing a rewarding career in a growing industry in Silicon Saxony. 🚋 In trams and busses from the Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe AG, we use from today simple yet attention-grabbing advertisements like in the picture. 📱 The campaign is also running digitally with various visuals and wordings across relevant social media channels. I’m curious: How do you like the campaign approach?

I am excited to share that I recently participated in an episode of the #DigitalIndustryLeaders Community Podcast, where I discussed the evolution and revolution of state-of-the-art IT infrastructure solutions. In this episode, hosted by #NicoStein, key topics we covered include: 1. How global trends like #AI and #blockchain are influencing IT infrastructure requirements. 2. The role of #digitaltwin technology in improving efficiency from planning to maintenance. 3. Strategies for managing the growing demands for data security and infrastructure. 4. How Rittal embodies true innovation with over 1,900 patents 5. The impact of the #EnergyEfficiencyAct on the industry. Because the discussion was in German, I will later elaborate on some key elements of the discussion in writing.

3 years at Siemens today. Here‘s why I am a huge fanboy: 👨‍💻 Cooperation: Everyone I worked with truly values cooperation. This company is huge and diverse. Great things will only happen through solid teamwork. Shared effort and shared responsibility are key to success. 🧪 Experimentation: If my ideas have the potential for future value, I am encouraged to test them. And I will get the resources and support to do so. If the experiments are promising, they will be nurtured into something bigger. If not, they will be stopped based on a transparent and honest discussion. 🎡 Flexibility of work: I have - in three years - never experienced real micromanagement or overreach with respect to my work schedule. I can work from anywhere and anytime. My managers and peers are only interested in my results. I was even actively encouraged to take a small break, when a manager had the feeling I was a bit overworked. This kind of leadership style is absolutely priceless. Heartfelt thanks for that to my coaches and leaders. ❤️‍🩹 One area of improvement: We could be faster in our collective decisions. I would even say we should. The size of the organization takes its toll through the decision complexity sometimes. This is where I have to practice my patience more often than I like to. *** Let’s see what the future holds in store for us on our way to becoming ONE Tech Company.

I’m beyond honored and grateful to be named one of the “100 Most Influential Women in the German Economy 2024” by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and manager magazin. This recognition is about all the women who are pushing boundaries, driving innovation and changing the way we think about leadership. While we’ve made great strides, there’s still much more to do.  Studies like the Gender Diversity Index 2024 by BCG and Technische Universität München show that companies with a high level of gender diversity are not only more crisis-resistant, but also invest more in future technologies such as artificial intelligence, thereby ensuring their long-term competitiveness. At the same time, the study shows that women remain severely underrepresented on the boards of the top 100 German companies, with a ratio of just 21%.    Women are key to shaping the future of business and making organizations ready for what’s next. This is why initiatives like this are so important. Why making role models visible for the younger generation matters. Today was the last session of my #GROW2GLOW #Coaching and I would like to share some insights with you. 👇   GROW2GLOW is a coaching initiative for women at #Siemens. A team of qualified coaches support female Siemens colleagues in their professional and personal development.   Together with my coach Stefanie Warmerdam I chose a mixed coaching format, meaning that we had virtual as well as face-to-face sessions. The face-to-face session was most beneficial for me, as it allowed me to not only apply my rational understanding of the topic but also to deepen my experience through engaging in physical activities and room-based exercises. Stefanie’s coaching style was characterized by her spontaneity and flexibility: if an important topic came up in our conversations or exercises, she was able to adapt on-the-fly and improvise to support me in the best possible way. That's what makes a good coach! ✨   My coaching was about defining my needs and values in the professional context and dissolving internalized beliefs. I don't want to go into detail but would like to share one surprising fact: Although I am known as an efficient and overorganized person that is addicted to checklists and tracking (my annoyed friends can confirm that as well), all workflow-related values were surpassed by social core principles like self-efficacy, authenticity, and idealism. However, the high ranking of empathy was definitely no surprise. 😅   I can fully recommend GROW2GLOW - Siemens coaching initiative for women ! Thank you, Stefanie! This morning, I had the privilege of immersing myself in the world of #Copilot at the Microsoft Technology Centers in Zürich with Olaf Stehr, Clemens Bolli, Eva-Maria Kaufmann, Elias Diggelmann, Semra Cecchetto-Gezici and Dr. Helge Lippert to learn about prompt engineering. 🔍 Key Insights: 1️⃣ The potential of Copilot M365 is immense and it won’t replace us; instead, it’s our trusty sidekick, allowing us to focus on what truly matters 👩‍💻. 2️⃣ Copilot is only as good as the pilot 👩‍✈️ (that's us as the prompter), meaning precise prompting is crucial. 3️⃣ Copilot is like an assistant and mentor but needs constant feedback to improve. 4️⃣ Prompting magic 🧙‍♀️ Generally, the structure for the ideal prompt is goal-context-example. 🤯 But most importantly, I realised how little I know about the universe of AI and its potential.
