Together for greater responsibility. 🌍 ❄️ Winter sports are facing major challenges: Climate change, melting glaciers and increasing ecological pressures are not only threatening the future of the sport, but also the natural environment in which it takes place. The Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS) and Viessmann Climate Solutions have acknowledged this problem and they are committed to making winter sports more sustainable. In the 2024/25 season, the efforts to make the FIS Nordic Combined World Cup as sustainable as possible will come into play more than ever in order to reconcile ecological responsibility and sporting tradition. The Local Organizing Committees (LOCs) of the eight World Cup venues for the 2024/2025 season are part of the newly initiated “FIS #CombinedForChange Sustainability Tour”. At least one sustainability measure will be presented at each Nordic Combined competition venue. At the end of the 2024/2025 season, the „FIS Combined For Change Award“ will be presented to the most effective of these. “By supporting the ‘Combined For Change Sustainability Tour’, we want to pursue our goal of strengthening sustainability in Nordic Combined together with our partner FIS,” says Georg van der Vorst, Head of Sponsoring, Viessmann Climate Solutions. “It is our major goal to achieve a positive impact for the climate and to communicate about the projects that contribute to this - in winter sports and beyond. Our Academy provides hands-on training to meet rising demands in the heating market. There are several good reasons we did this: On the one hand, user requirements for modern energy systems are constantly growing, not only in terms of climate compatibility, but also in terms of ease of use and cost transparency. On the other hand, a quick solution is expected when system functions are impaired. At the same time, capacity utilization in the trade is higher than ever before, making it almost impossible to keep up with orders.
