🌱 #Biofach2025: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐮𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 🌾 It was amazing to be at BIOFACH, immersing into the vibe of the organic market and engaging with industry leaders who deeply care about transparency and sustainability. The potential for real supply chain transformation is huge—but there’s still work to do! 🔍 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 Many companies believe that risk analyses, e.g. for supply chain laws, give them full supply chain visibility already. But real impact starts after the assessment—by actively managing high-risk products, raw materials, and regions before issues arise and sharing these insights with partners all along the #FoodSupplyChain. 🌍 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝—𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 The organic sector has strong direct supplier relationships, making it well-positioned for traceability. But many businesses aren’t digitising or leveraging their primary data effectively. Unlocking this potential could drive real competitive advantage. 🌳 𝐄𝐔𝐃𝐑: 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐞 Downstream buyers are demanding traceability and deforestation-free supply chains for commodities not yet covered by EUDR. Sugar is a potential next target but confirmation on whether it will be included in the next batch of commodities affected by EUDR is pending. The message is clear: transparency, traceability, and proactive management are no longer optional—they’re essential. And also how Beatriz Daim from Tradin Organic put it on the "Save Sustainability" panel: 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘢 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘳. Thanks for all of our valuable catch-ups, insightful conversations and new connections: Tradin Organic, Anitra van der Kraan, Riley Linder, goodmoodfood GmbH, Tobias Fischer, GOOD FOOD COLLECTIVE, Julian Stock, Nora Taleb, Conflictfood, Gernot Würtenberger, M. 🔎 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 🌍 With traceability to the origin becoming increasingly crucial, the BIOFACH session "𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲" brought together experts to discuss how companies can communicate sustainability in a transparent and verifiable way. Here are the main points from Ana Selina Haberbosch: 🌱 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 Sustainability communication shouldn’t be limited to annual CSR reports—consumers value emotional yet fact-based stories. That’s exactly what Seedtrace enables: a traceable journey of ingredients from farm to shelf, based on primary data from the first mile. 📍 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞: 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐱 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 With DAVERT (Midsona AB), we showed how product transparency can become a true differentiator in the organic market. The key ingredients are traceable down to the batch level—a first at this scale! QR codes on packaging, online integration, and transparent communication make all the difference. 🚀 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐈𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 Just a few months later, two more supply chains for Davert have been equipped with batch-level traceability, including Tradin Organic’s coconut blossom sugar. This not only enhances transparency but also supports an impactful project at its origin in Indonesia: Thanks to the organic premium and the processing of the nectar, farmers and their families have significantly increased their income. 💡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: Companies that actively shape transparency today send a clear signal for the future. They are not only prepared for regulatory requirements such as supply chain laws but also build long-term consumer trust. Thanks for the valuable exchange on the panel: 🎤 Gerrit Wiezoreck, CEO of Ecofinia GmbH – Cocoa Tracking Instead of Greenwashing 🎤 Ralf Kunert, CEO of naturamus GmbH – Organic Compliance in the Supply Chain Act (LKSG) 🎤 Beatriz Daim, Sustainability Specialist at Tradin Organic – Transparency in Global Supply Chains #Biofach #Transparency #Sustainability #Seedtrace #SupplyChain #Compliance

The event highlighted the importance of collaborative action and transparent supply chains to close the living income gap and create long-term sustainability in the cocoa sector. As a provider of traceability solutions, Seedtrace was part of the conversation, showcasing how supply chain transparency can contribute to fairer pricing structures and greater accountability in financial flows—key factors in achieving a living income. 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬: Dr. Carsten Bernroth (BDSI – Bundesverband der Deutschen Süßwarenindustrie e.V.) emphasised that ensuring a living income for cocoa farmers requires looking beyond just the price paid for cocoa. Structural factors—such as local market conditions, economic frameworks, and policies—also play a significant role. A holistic approach is needed to address these underlying challenges. 🌟 𝐀 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 🌟 Last evening, Food Innovation Camp and Food Service Innovation Lab hosted an inspiring networking dinner themed 𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘕𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴. 🎉 Together with Nadja Flohr-Spence, our CEO Ana Selina Haberbosch took the stage to showcase the 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐲𝐰𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐭—a pioneering project that reimagines food innovation and transparency. This beloved classic now tells a story: a detailed, data-backed journey of its 18 ingredients, from farm to fork. Thanks to the collaboration between Food Service Innovation Lab, Seedtrace, SoulSpice, and Planted. A simple QR code lets guests connect with the farmers, see images from the harvest, and learn about the entire supply chain. 🤳 Scan the code in the photo to explore the story behind the dish! 🌱 At Seedtrace, we believe this is the future: using transparency to build trust and emotional connection AND fostering deep collaboration along the supply chain to drive social and environmental impact. To all who joined last night: thank you for sharing this journey and pushing forward the food revolution! 👏 Christian Hamerle and Nadja Flohr-Spence from Food Service Innovation Lab as well as Sina Gritzuhn and Lia Carlucci 🍋 from Food Innovation Camp who hosted this fabulous event. 👏 Dr. Dorotea Pein from Planteneers who brought culinary plant-based delights to us throughout the evening. 👏 Nadine Filko who shared beautiful creative ideas on how we need to engage with emotions in the sense of a future-oriented diet. She creates amazing spaces for this and even moved us with a poem. #Innovation #Sustainability #Networking #FoodTransparency #NeueNarrative #SupplyChain #Traceability #FromHumanToHuman
