GTF Advantage receives FAA type certification! ✈️ The Pratt & Whitney GTF Advantage engine has achieved the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) type certification for the Airbus A320neo family. This new engine type benefits from 4-8% more takeoff thrust, technological enhancements, improved durability and longer on-wing times. The Advantage is the latest engine from the GTF family to be certified and we are very proud to have contributed to this program milestone with our fleet experience, advanced design and measurement methods, as well as our extensive engineering and technological expertise! MTU has a share of up to 18% in the GTF engine program, depending on type. We are responsible for the high-speed low-pressure turbine and the first four stages of the high-pressure compressor. We also manufacture brush seals and nickel blisks for high-pressure compressor components beyond our design responsibility. And we even assemble one-third of the production PW1100G-JM engines for the A320neo. Not to mention our major role in the global GTF maintenance network! We are excited for the first engine deliveries and seeing the engine high in the skies later this year! #WeAreEngineExperts

Test your engine knowledge! 💡 The IAE V2500 narrowbody engine, in which MTU holds a 16 percent stake as a risk- and revenue-share partner, is still one of the most flown engines in the world - more than 40 years after the program was launched. It is used to power a number of aircraft, including the Airbus A320ceo family. In the spring of 2025, a V2500 engine somewhere in the world will reach an incredible milestone in the engine program's flight hours. So what do you think? How many flight hours will the V2500 engine program achieve this year? The solution will be revealed in the comments. #WeAreEngineExperts
