- Die Tanzania Ports Authority (deutsch etwa: „Tansanische Hafenbehörde“) abgekürzt TPA, ist eine Behörde in Tansania, die dem Ministerium für Infrastrukturentwicklung (Ministry of Infrastructure Development) untersteht und zur Verwaltung und Betreibung der staatlichen See- und Binnenhäfen des Landes bevollmächtigt ist. Sie wurde am 15. April 2005 auf der Grundlage des Ports Act No. 17 of 2004 errichtet und ihr Verwaltungssitz befindet sich in Daressalam. Die von ihr betriebenen großen Seehäfen befinden sich (vom Norden nach Süden aufgezählt) in Tanga, Daressalam sowie Mtwara. Weiterhin fallen noch die kleineren Seehäfen von Bagamoyo, Kilwa, Lindi, Mafia und Pangani in den Zuständigkeitsbereich von TPA. Ferner umfasst ihre Zuständigkeit alle Binnenhäfen am Malawisee, Tanganjikasee und Victoriasee, wodurch sie eine wichtige Funktion für den westlichen Landesabschnitt Tansanias sowie für angrenzende Länder, fast alle von ihnen Binnenstaaten, Burundi, Demokratische Republik Kongo, Malawi, Ruanda, Sambia und Uganda besitzt. Unter die Verwaltung der Tanzania Ports Authority fallen demnach die Binnenhäfen:
* am Victoriasee: Mwanza North und Mwanza South, , , Bukoba und Musoma,
* am Tanganjikasee: Kigoma und Kasanga,
* am Malawisee: Port, , Manda (früher: Wiedhafen), Liuli (früher: Sphinxhafen) und Mbamba Bay. Die Behörde ist Mitglied der Port Management Association of Eastern and Southern Africa. (de)
