- Suf (bahasa Ibrani: סוף; bahasa Inggris: Suph) adalah nama tempat di dekat sungai Yordan yang disebut dalam Kitab Ulangan 1:1. Inilah perkataan-perkataan yang diucapkan Musa kepada seluruh orang Israel di seberang sungai Yordan, di padang gurun, di Araba-Yordan, di tentangan Suf, antara Paran dengan Tofel, Laban, Hazerot dan Di-Zahab. Sejumlah pakar mengidentifikasikan dengan:
* Sufa yang disebutkan dalam Bilangan 21:14:Itulah sebabnya dikatakan dalam kitab peperangan TUHAN: "Waheb di Sufa dan lembah-lembah ke sungai Arnon"
* es-Sufah = Pendakian Akrabim Maaleh-acrabbim (Kitab Yosua 15:3),
* Tanah Zuf (Kitab 1 Samuel 9:5).Ketika mereka sampai ke tanah Zuf, berkatalah Saul kepada bujangnya yang bersama-sama dengan dia: "Mari, kita pulang. Nanti ayahku tidak lagi memikirkan keledai-keledai itu, tetapi kuatir mengenai kita."
* Yang paling mungkin, sesuai versi-versi purba, merupakan singkatan dari nama Yam-suf, yaitu "Laut Merah. (in)

Some scholars (Patrick, Rosenmüller, and others) identify it with Suphah (Numbers 21:14, quoting the lost Book of the Wars of the Lord) as probably the name of a place. Others identify it with es-Sufah i.e. Maaleh-acrabbim (Joshua 15:3), and yet others with Zuph (1 Samuel 9:5). It is most probable, however, that, in accordance with the ancient versions, this word is to be regarded as simply an abbreviation of Yam Suph i.e. the "Red Sea". (en)
