- Sumbat I de Artanudji (mort l'any 899) fou un príncep de Artanudji (Tao Superior i Klardjètia) de la família dels Bagrationi, que regna en la segona part del segle ix. Sumbat Bagration era el segon fill d'Adarnases II de Tao, al seu torn fill primogènit de san Aixot el Curopalata. Mamasakhlis (degà) de la seva dinastia a la mort del seu germà, no va rebre la corona d'Ibèria i no la va pretendre. És citat pel príncep Vakhuxt Bagration com el germà d' Aixot Cecela, que va morir abans que ell. Va regnar sobre el principat d'Artanudji (avui Ardanuç, a Turquia), i va rebre els títols romans d'Orient d'antípat i patrici i va morir el 889. Va deixar tres fill d'una esposa desconeguda :

- Soumbat Ier d'Artanoudji (mort en 889) est un prince d'Artanoudji de la famille des Bagrations, qui règne dans la seconde partie du IXe siècle. Soumbat Bagration est le second fils d'Adarnassé, prince d'Artanoudji, lui-même fils aîné de saint Achot Curopalate. Mamasakhlis de sa maison à la mort de son frère, il n'a jamais reçu la couronne d'Ibérie et ne prétend pas non plus à son trône. Il est cité par le prince Vakhoucht Bagration comme le frère d'Achot Cécéla, qui est mort avant lui. Régnant sur la principauté géorgienne d'Artanoudji (aujourd'hui Ardanuç, en Turquie), il a reçu le titre byzantin d'Antipatos-patrice et est mort en 889. Il a eu trois fils de son épouse inconnue :

- Sumbat I (Georgian: სუმბატ I) (died 899) was a Georgian prince of the Bagratid dynasty of Tao-Klarjeti and hereditary ruler of Klarjeti from c. 870 until his death. A son of Adarnase II of Tao-Klarjeti, Sumbat received the province of Klarjeti as an appanage where he ruled with the title of mampali, which seems to have passed on to Sumbat and his progeny after the extinction of the line of Guaram Mampali. He also bore the Byzantine title of antipatos patrician (antipatrikios, ανθύπατος πατρίκιος). Sumbat had a residence at Artanuji (modern Ardanuç, Turkey), which towards the end of the 9th century began to develop into a thriving trading centre. Hence comes his territorial epithet Artanujeli (არტანუჯელი), i.e., "of Artanuji". Sumbat is referred to as "the Great" by Constantine Porphyrogenitus, author of De Administrando Imperio, where his name is rendered as Symbatius. Apart from Klarjeti, Sumbat must also have possessed Adjara and Nigali, since the latter two appear among the possessions of his son David (died 943). Sumbat also had a younger son Bagrat (died 900). The Art Museum of Georgia in Tbilisi possesses a late 9th-century reliquary cross whose donation inscription refers to Khosrovanush, wife of Sumbat, and her sons Bagrat and David. Khosrovanush is unattested elsewhere. (en)
