Vasily Chapayev (Russian: Васи́лий Чапа́ев) was a Project 1134A Berkut A (NATO reporting name Kresta II) class cruiser of the Soviet Navy named for Soviet commander Vasily Chapayev. The ninth ship of the class, the vessel served mostly during the Cold War from being launched in 1974. After a tour that encompassed Cuba, Angola, Yemen and India, Vasily Chapayev served during the Cold War with the Pacific Fleet as part of the 201st Anti-Submarine Warfare Brigade from 1978. The cruiser was relegated to reserve in 1992 and decommissioned in 1993.
