- الغارة على مطار سيدي حنيش كانت عملية عسكرية نُفِّذت ليلة 26 يوليو 1942. عندما هاجمت إحدى وحدات القوة الجوية الخاصة البريطانية بقيادة الرائد ديفيد ستيرلينغ مطار سيدي حنيش الألماني في مصر أثناء حملة الصحراء الغربية ضمن الحرب العالمية الثانية. نتج عن الغارة تدمير العديد من طائرات سلاح الجو الألماني اللوفتفافه المستخدمة لنقل الإمدادات إلى قوات المحور أو تضررها بنيران المدافع الرشاشة والمتفجرات. وعليه تحولت وحدات الخط الأمامي لقوات المحور لتقوية الحاميات في المؤخرة المعرضة للهجوم. - The Raid on Sidi Haneish Airfield was a military operation carried out the night of 26 July 1942. A British Special Air Service unit commanded by Major David Stirling attacked a German-held airfield in Egypt during the Western Desert Campaign of Second World War. Several Luftwaffe aircraft used to ferry supplies to the Axis forces were destroyed or damaged with machine-gun fire and explosives. Axis front line units were diverted to reinforce the garrisons in the rear vulnerable to attack. (en)
- Le raid sur l'aérodrome de Sidi Haneish est une opération militaire menée dans la nuit du 26 juillet 1942. Une unité du Special Air Service composés de Britanniques et de Français des FFL, commandée par le major David Stirling attaqua un aérodrome tenu par les Allemands en Égypte pendant la guerre du Désert lors de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. 37 avions de la Luftwaffe utilisés pour transporter des fournitures aux forces de l'Axe furent détruits ou endommagés par des tirs de mitrailleuses et d'explosifs. Les unités de première ligne des forces de l'Axe furent détournées pour renforcer les garnisons à l'arrière vulnérables aux attaques. C’est lors du retour de ce raid que fut tué le Français André Zirnheld, officier parachutiste des FFL auteur de « la prière du para ». (fr)
