- La liste des conjoints des rois du Wessex rassemble les épouses connues des souverains du Wessex, royaume du haut Moyen Âge situé dans le sud-ouest de l'Angleterre. Le titre de reine ne leur est pas systématiquement attribué. Les conjoints des premiers rois du Wessex ne sont mentionnés dans aucune source. La première femme d'un roi ouest-saxon nommée est Seaxburh, dans la deuxième moitié du VIIe siècle, qui aurait par ailleurs directement exercé le pouvoir après la mort de son mari Cenwalh, vers 672. Quelques reines sont attestées au VIIIe siècle, mais ce sont les épouses royales du IXe siècle qui sont les mieux connues, notamment celles liées au roi Alfred le Grand : sa mère Osburga et sa femme Ealhswith. - The royal consorts of Wessex were the wives of the reigning monarchs of the Kingdom of Wessex. History has not always recorded whether each king of Wessex was married or not. In Wessex it was not customary for kings' wives to be queens but Judith was crowned queen following her marriage to Æthelwulf. Wessex was an Anglo-Saxon kingdom in the south of Great Britain, from AD 519 until England was unified by Æthelstan (who never married) in AD 927. There have thus been no consorts of an independent Wessex since that date and the following consorts have been those of the monarch of England. (en)
