- Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens (česky: Phippsův skleník a botanické zahrady) je botanická zahrada ležící na ploše v pensylvánském Pittsburghu. Jako jedna z městských pamětihodností se stala součástí amerického Národního registru historických míst (NHRC). Botanickou zahradu založil v roce 1893 ocelářský a realitní magnát Henry Phipps v podobě daru městu Pittsburgh. Areál měl sloužit k edukativním účelům i jako místo odpočinku obyvatel. Na pozemku vznikly typické zahrady jednotlivých stylů (římské, anglické, francouzské aj.) a pěstována byla řada druhů exotických rostlin (palem, sukulentů, bonsají, orchidejí aj.). Postupné úpravy pozemku vedly k propracovanému systému zahrad zahrnujících čtrnáct skleníků a k nim přilehlých otevřených ploch. K základnímu účelu výstavy rostlin se, díky sklářské a kovodělné práci manufaktury , skleníky staly příkladem . Po roce 1910 byla zřízena také vodní zahrada. Phippsův skleník představuje jednu z „nejzelenějších“ budov na světě. Vstupní pavilon skleníku obdržel stříbrný stupeň ekologické certifikace LEED. Výrobní zařízení skleníku získalo platinovou certifikaci jako vůbec první takový typ budovy. Také Centrum pro udržitelný rozvoj krajiny (Center for Sustainable Landscapes), navržené jako součást zahrady, s budovou šetrnou k životnímu prostředí, má platinové osvědčení LEED. Jedná se o stavbu s nulovou spotřebou energie. (cs)

- Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is a botanical garden set in Schenley Park, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. It is a City of Pittsburgh historic landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The gardens were founded in 1893 by steel and real-estate magnate Henry Phipps Jr. as a gift to the City of Pittsburgh. Its purpose is to educate and entertain the people of Pittsburgh with formal gardens (Roman, English, etc.) and various species of exotic plants (palm trees, succulents, bonsai, orchids, etc.). Currently, the facilities house elaborate gardens within the fourteen room conservatory itself and on the adjoining grounds. In addition to its primary flora exhibits, the sophisticated glass and metalwork of the Lord & Burnham conservatory offers an interesting example of Victorian greenhouse architecture. Phipps is one of the "greenest" facilities in the world. The entrance pavilion of the Phipps Conservatory has silver-level LEED certification. Its greenhouse production facility has received Platinum certification, the first and only greenhouse to be so certified. Moreover, the Center for Sustainable Landscapes, designed to be as environmentally sustainable as possible, is also LEED Platinum certified, and produces all of its own energy. (en)
