- مسجد لارابانكا هو أحد المساجد الأثرية في غانا، يقع في قرية لارابانكا في المنطقة الشماليَّة من غانا. شُيِّد المسجد وفق النمط المعماري السوداني - السواحيلي، وهو أقدم مساجد الدولة وأحد أقدم مساجد أفريقيا الغربية، وله أهمية ورمزية كبيرة عند المُسلمين في تلك الناحية من العالم، حيث لُقّبت المنطقة التي يقع فيها بلقب «مكَّة أفريقيا الغربيَّة». حسبَ الرواية الشعبية المُتناقلة فإنَّ هذا المسجد بُني سنة 1421م، وجُددت عمارته عدَّة مرَّات مُنذ ذلك الحين حتَّى اليوم، وساهم صُندوق المعالم العالمي (بالإنجليزية: World Monuments Fund) بِترميمه بشكلٍ كبير، وصنَّفه ضمن أكثر مئة موقع عالمي مُهدد بالزوال. كما ساهمت أعمال ترميمه بإحياء أساليب صيانة الأبنية والعمائر بواسطة الطين والجص أو مزيجٍ بينهما. يحوي المسجد مُصحفًا قديمًا يرجع لِسنة 1650م. وهيئة هذا المسجد الخارجيَّة مُميزة ومُلفتة من حيث أنه مبنيٌّ بواسطة الطوب والقصب، ولهُ بُرجان طويلان هرميَّان، أحدهما يضم المحراب ويُشكِّلُ واجهة المبنى من الشرق، والآخر مئذنة ويقع في الجانب الشمالي الشرقي. يتكاتف الطرفان مع اثني عشر بناء بصليَّة الشكل مُركبة بواسطة عدَّة جُذوع خشبيَّة. La compañía de servicios financieros American Express aportó 50.000 dólares para restaurar la mezquita a través del Fondo Mundial de Monumentos. Los fondos se dedicaron a calcular el estado de la conservación del sitio, y la financiación de un equipo de artesanos locales y mano de obra con conocimientos de mantenimiento en alfarería para la restauración de dicho monumento. - The Larabanga Mosque (Arabic: مسجد لارابانجا) is a mosque built in the Sudanese architectural style in the village of Larabanga, Ghana. It is the oldest mosque in the country and one of the oldest in West Africa, and has been referred to as the "Mecca of West Africa". It has undergone restoration several times since it was founded in 1421. The World Monuments Fund (WMF) has contributed substantially to its restoration, and lists it as one of the 100 Most Endangered Sites. The restoration works have revived the knowledge of adobe maintenance. The mosque has an old Quran, believed by the locals to have been given as a gift from heaven in 1650 to Yidan Barimah Bramah, the Imam at the time, as a result of his prayers. The mosque, built using West African adobe, has two tall towers in pyramidal shape, one for the mihrab which faces towards Mecca forming the facade on the east and the other as a minaret in the northeast corner. These are buttressed by twelve bulbous shaped structures, which are fitted with timber elements. (en)
