- Iliaș Alexandru (auch: Iliaș III.) war der Sohn des moldauischen Fürsten . Iliaș Alexandru herrschte selbst in dem Donaufürstentum zwischen dem 21. Mai 1666 und dem 8. November 1668. Im Gegensatz zu vielen seiner Vorgänger galt er als bescheidener und gutmütiger Mensch, der oft und gerne in Not Geratenen unter die Arme griff. So soll er wiederholte Male die Schulden anderer aus seiner Privatschatulle beglichen haben. Ausgerechnet in seine Regierungszeit fällt die unpopuläre Erhöhung der Tributzahlungen an die Hohe Pforte um jährliche 25.000 Lei. Iliaș Alexandru konnte dem Druck des Thronprätendenten nicht lange standhalten und ging ins Istanbuler Exil, wo er auch starb. (de)
- Iliaş Alexandru (also called Iliaş III), (c. 1635 – 1675) was voivode or Ruler of Moldova from 1666 to 1668. He was the son of a previous ruler. The person who preceded and reigned after him was Gheorghe Duca. In 1668 he punished Nicolae Milescu who had been plotting against him by having his nose cut off. Milescu had to leave and went to Constantinople. In 1999 he was seen on a Moldovan stamp. (en)

La monarchie était élective dans les principautés roumaines de Moldavie et de Valachie, comme en Transylvanie et en Pologne voisines : le prince (voïvode, hospodar ou domnitor selon les époques et les sources) était élu par (et souvent parmi) les boyards : pour être nommé, régner et se maintenir, il s'appuyait sur les partis de boyards et fréquemment sur les puissances voisines, habsbourgeoise, polonaise, russe et surtout ottomane, car jusqu'en 1859 les deux principautés étaient vassales de la « Sublime Porte » dont elles étaient tributaires.
