Ike Jonathan Awgu (born October 14, 1983) is a Canadian lawyer. Awgu was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. At the age of 19 he ran for Mayor in the 2003 municipal election, and finished third out of eight candidates with 2.92% of the vote. He planned on running for city council in the 2010 Ottawa municipal election in Bay Ward, but dropped out after sitting councillor Alex Cullen declared his intention for running for re-election. Awgu returned to Ottawa in 2009 and is currently a lawyer and blogger with the Huffington Post. He has also appeared on HuffPost Live and TVO's The Agenda.
