- Indogermánský etymologický slovník (německy Indogermanisches etymologisches Wörterbuch) je etymologický slovník, publikovaný v roce 1959 jazykovědcem Juliem Pokornym. Jde o zkrácené a přepracované vydání třísvazkového Srovnávacího slovníku indogermánských jazyků (Vergleichendes Wörterbuch der indogermanischen Sprachen), vydaného v letech 1927–1932 a Juliem Pokornym. Slovník je přehledem lexikálních znalostí indogermánských jazyků počátku 20. století. (cs)
- The Indogermanisches etymologisches Wörterbuch (IEW; "Indo-European Etymological Dictionary") was published in 1959 by the Austrian-German comparative linguist and Celtic languages expert Julius Pokorny. It is an updated and slimmed-down reworking of the three-volume Vergleichendes Wörterbuch der indogermanischen Sprachen (1927–1932, by Alois Walde and Julius Pokorny). Both of these works aim to provide an overview of the lexical knowledge of the Proto-Indo-European language accumulated through the early 20th century. The IEW is now significantly outdated, especially as it was conservative even when it was written, ignoring the now integral laryngeal theory, and hardly including any Anatolian material. (en)

È una rielaborazione aggiornata e snellita del tre volumi Vergleichendes Wörterbuch der indogermanischen Sprachen (1927–1932, di Alois Walde e Julius Pokorny).Entrambi questi lavori hanno lo scopo di fornire una panoramica sulle conoscenze lessicali della lingua protoindoeuropea accumulate lungo il corso del XX secolo. Lo IEW è attualmente superato, soprattutto perché conservativo fin dall'origine, dal momento che ignorava la teoria delle laringali e menzionava appena qualche materiale linguistico relativo all'Anatolia, ma ancora oggi non vi è un sostituto e rimane un importante strumento di riferimento.
