- Apatelodes torrefacta, the spotted apatelodes, is a moth in the family Apatelodidae. The species was first described by Smith in 1797. It is found in North America from Maine and southern Ontario to Florida, west to Texas, and north to Wisconsin. The wingspan is 32–42 mm. Adults are on wing from May to August. There are two generations per year in the south and one in the north. The larvae feed on Fraxinus, Prunus, Acer and Quercus species. (en)
- Apatelodes torrefacta is een vlinder uit de familie van de Apatelodidae. De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is, als Phalaena torrefacta, voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1797 door James Edward Smith. Deze soort is de typesoort van het geslacht Apatelodes. Smith verkeerde in de veronderstelling dat dit dezelfde soort betrof als Phalaena firmiana van Pieter Cramer (hij bedoelde Caspar Stoll) maar gaf de soort een andere naam omdat die van Cramer overhaast gekozen en zonder betekenis zou zijn.
