- Το Αμερικάνικο κουνέλι είναι μία ράτσα κουνελιού που προέρχεται από τις ΗΠΑ. Ήταν μία από τις πρώτες ράτσες που αναγνωρίστηκαν από τον (ΑΟΕΚ) το 1917. Σύμφωνα με τα πρότυπα του ΑΟΕΚ το αμερικάνικο κουνέλι έχει σχήμα Μαντολίνου. Επίσης έχει "γλυκό" ταμπεραμέντο και τα θηλυκά είναι πολύ καλές μητέρες. Όπως όλα τα κατοικίδια κουνέλια έτσι και η Αμερικάνικη ποικιλία ανήκει στο είδος Oryctolagus cuniculus. (el)

It has also been noted for a good 'sweet' temperament and good mothering abilities. As with all domestic rabbits, the American breed is of the species Oryctolagus cuniculus, the European wild rabbit.
