- The Eastern Region (Arabic: ٱلْمِنْطَقَة ٱلشَّرْقِيَّة, romanized: Al-Minṭaqah ash-Sharqiyyah, since March 2017 officially renamed by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Al Ain Region (Arabic: مِنْطَقَة ٱلْعَيْن, romanized: Minṭaqat al-ʿAyn)) is one of three Municipal Regions in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It forms the southeastern part of the United Arab Emirates. Its main settlement is the city of Al Ain, located on the country's border with Oman, about 160 km (99 mi) from the city of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the Emirate and country. Compared to the Western Region, it is also a rather remote region of the Emirate, but smaller by area, and is not known to hold reserves of gas or petroleum, but is agriculturally important. (en)

Forma la parte sureste de los Emiratos Árabes Unidos. Su principal asentamiento es la ciudad de Al Ain, ubicada en la frontera del país con Omán, a unos 160 km de la ciudad de Abu Dhabi, la capital del Emirato y del país. Es una región bastante remota del Emirato, pero más pequeña por área, y no se sabe que tenga reservas de gas o petróleo, pero es de importancia agrícola. La ciudad de Al-Ain, parte de una región histórica que también incluye la ciudad adyacente omaní de Al-Buraimi, se caracteriza por sus fortalezas, oasis, aflāj (canales subterráneos de agua) y sitios arqueológicos como los de Hili y Rumailah. Los sitios fuera de la ciudad incluyen Jebel Hafeet y el Fuerte Al-A'ankah. En 2009, la población de la región se estimó en 890.000 habitantes. Aparte de la ciudad principal, hay alrededor de 20 asentamientos que se rigen por el ayuntamiento de la región, que es el municipio de Al Ain.
