- أحمد رامي (القاهرة، 1892 - القاهرة، 5 يونيو 1981) شاعر وكاتب مصري. درس في مدرسة المعلمين وتخرج منها عام 1914، ثم سافر إلى باريس في بعثة من أجل تعلم نظم الوثائق والمكتبات واللغات الشرقية وحصل على شهادة في المكتبات والوثائق من جامعة السوربون. درس أحمد رامي اللغة الفارسية في معهد اللغات الشرقية بباريس، مما ساعده فيما بعد على ترجمة «رباعيات عمر الخيام». عُيِّن أمين مكتبة دار الكتب المصرية كما حصل على التقنيات الحديثة في فرنسا في تنظيم دار الكتب، ثم عمل أمين مكتبة في عصبة الأمم عاد إلى مصر عام 1945. و عُيِّن مستشاراً للإذاعة المصرية، حيث عمل فيها لمدة ثلاث سنوات ثم عُيِّن نائباً لرئيس دار الكتب المصرية. وقد لُقّب بشاعر الشباب. - Ahmed Ramy (Arabic: أحمد رامى) (August 9, 1892 - June 5, 1981) (also transliterated Ahmad Ramy) was an Egyptian poet, songwriter and translator. He is best known for writing lyrics for the Egyptian singers Umm Kalthoum and Mohammed Abdel Wahab. Rami was also a translator. His works include translations of several of Shakespeare's plays and the quatrains of the Persian poet Omar Khayyám. Ramy also played a leading role in developing the Arabic song, using simple language to express his sublime themes. He was named "Poet of the youth" in recognition of his considerable contributions to the Arabic song. (en)

Rami - también conocido como el poeta de la juventud شاعر الشباب - es célebre, sobre todo, por componer más de la mitad del repertorio de la prestigiosa cantante egipcia Umm Kulthum. Compuso, además, varios textos para el también músico egipcio Mohammed Abdel Wahab. Entre sus obras escritas más destacadas figura su Diwan o poemario (ديوان), así como la traducción al árabe de los Cuartetos escritos en farsi por el poeta persa Omar Jayam. Ahmed Rami pertenece a una generación de poetas egipcios precursores de la poesía árabe como medio de expresión de los sentimientos y emociones interiores del hombre. (es)
