O nás
Ústav mezinárodních vztahů (ÚMV) je v současnosti nejvýznamnější českou výzkumnou institucí působí v oboru mezinárodních vztahů. Jde o instituci nezávislou, která byla založena Ministerstvem zahraničních věcí České republiky, s nímž pravidelně spolupracuje na různých expertních projektech. Snaží se propojovat akademický svět, veřejnost a praxi mezinárodní politiky. ÚMV provádí bohatý a fundovaný základní i aplikovaný výzkum v oboru mezinárodních vztahů. Výsledkem publikační činnosti jsou stati, protokoly i články v odborné literatuře. Ústav také vydává dva recenzované časopisy (české Mezinárodní vztahy a New Perspectives v angličtině), pravidelně však zpracovává i více prakticky orientované texty, např. tzv. policy papers, scénáře světové politiky či hodnocení české zahraniční politiky za každý rok. Tyto dokumenty jsou brány jako fundovaná doporučení aktéry české zahraniční politiky. Pro profesionály z oboru, ale i pro studenty a širokou veřejnost pravidelně ÚMV organizuje konference, odborné semináře, diskuze a prezentace. Ústav spolupracuje s řadou špičkových institucí, kupříkladu se Zastoupením Evropské komise v Praze a Evropským parlamentem, dále s Central European International Studies Association, Trans European Policy Studies Association, European Consortium for Political Research, Akademií věd ČR a dalšími. ÚMV též poskytuje doktorský stupeň studia díky partnerství s Metropolitní univerzitou Praha.

Představujeme nové vydání naší každoroční publikace Analýzy ÚMV 2025: Svět v proměnách. 🌍🚨 📖 Letošní číslo se zaměřuje na vzestup krajně pravicových politických hnutí a jejich postupnou normalizaci v zahraniční politice v euroatlantickém prostoru. Publikace obsahuje články v češtině i angličtině, které toto téma analyzují z perspektivy jednotlivých zemí a specifických problémů. 👉🏻 Například Jan Hornát (IMS FSV UK - Institut mezinárodních studií FSV UK) se věnuje Trumpově zahraniční politice, zatímco Jakub Eberle (IMS FSV UK - Institut mezinárodních studií FSV UK) zkoumá posun německé politiky doprava, zejména v oblasti migrace, a jeho dopad na Česko. 🗣️ The Czech Journal of International Relations is calling for submissions to a Special issue titled Deciphering Gender-Based Violence: Feminist, Postsocialist and Postcolonial Perspectives from Central and Eastern Europe", edited by Maryna Shevtsova and Dr. Julia Sachseder. 👉🏻 We seek submissions targeting Gender-Based Violence from various angles, including the questions of: • Feminist, post-socialist and de/postcolonial critiques of existing approaches to GBV, focusing on local experiences and resistances in Central and Eastern Europe. • Analyses of GBV in post-conflict transitions, including peacebuilding, state-building, and democratization processes in the region. • Exploration of how intersections of gender, race, class, and sexuality shape the production and perpetuation of GBV in Central and Eastern Europe. • Feminist conceptualizations of “violence as a continuum” and their applicability to historical and contemporary contexts in the region. • The role of toxic/hegemonic masculinities, racialized hierarchies, and political economy in shaping GBV. 📆 The deadline for abstracts is on 16th March. Our researcher Dr. Mila O'Sullivan participated in the 2nd Annual Meeting of the NATO Civil Society Advisory Panel on Women, Peace and Security. 👏🏼 We are proud that she is a member of NATO Civil Society Advisory Panel and her expertise on Women, Peace and Security in Central and Eastern Europe as well as NATO’s defence and deterrence approach to Russia’s war on Ukraine is recognized by the Alliance. 📌 Míla’s work focuses on feminist approaches in international relations, security studies, and political economy. She explores topics such as gender and war, the UN Women, Peace and Security agenda, feminist diplomacy, and foreign policies, including security governance in institutions like NATO and OSCE.
