A24 has revealed the trailer for Opus, a new psychological horror film starring John Malkovich as a pop star-turned-cult leader.
In the film, written and directed by Mark Anthony Green, Ayo Edebiri plays a journalist who is invited to a remote compound to profile Moretti (Malkovich) as he gears up to release “the greatest album of modern times.”
“Surrounded by the star’s cult of sycophants and intoxicated journalists,” Edebiri’s character soon “finds herself in the middle of his twisted plan.”
Alongside Malkovich and Edebiri, Opus stars Juliette Lewis, Murray Bartlett, Amber Midthunder, Stephanie Suganami, and Tatanka Means. The film opens in theaters on March 14th, 2025.
