Buttons
[edit]It's a nice gallery now, thank you for that. Regards, Wutsje (talk) 13:58, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- Hello Tyranny Sue,
- Perhaps you already saw the gallery buttons (sewing) I created yesterday - I was working on the gallery sewing and wanted to put in a link to a gallery concerning buttons. I found your gallery Clothing buttons under its former name and decided that it was focusing on buttons seen from the point of view of collectors and therefore decided on creating a second gallery and linking them. Wutsje brought your name change to my attention and asked if the two galleries should be merged.
- I'm a bit unsure as to how to procede, as at the moment the gallery names suggest that they are both about the same topic, while the galleries themselves are still focusing on different aspects of the same subject.
- As I see it, there are two possibilities: either to merge the two galleries and two have one part of the gallery focusing on the sewing and one on the collecting aspect, or to rename Clothing buttons to button collecting, buttons (collecting) (are there any collectors of non-clothing buttons?) or something like that...
- Oh - one more thing: I personally don't like links to wikipedias from a gallery - except as interwikilinks (en:Button collecting simple:Button collector at the end of the gallery, showing up on the left side just below the tools) or in language templates ( at the top of the page) - as commons is international... but of course links to other commons-galleries are great! ;-> Though I tend to put them in a See also: link instead of directly in the headline... but that's probably a matter of taste...
- best wishes
