I remember Creative from my first two mp3 players ~15 years ago. I'm happy to see the company has retained their dedication to great sound quality in their products.
Sound:
The clarity and dynamic range of these little speakers is well beyond what I expected at a $40 price point. For both music and movies, these speakers make for a very immersive experience, somehow managing a surround sound quality where the sound seems to be coming from the front and from the sides. Maybe this has something to do with the 45° angle they sit at.
The bass is sufficiently powerful, tho perhaps not for bassheads. These speakers put out defined lows that don't overpower the rest of the mix. This is perfect for me, as I prefer a more neutral sound to powerful, muddy bass. If you want desk rattling bass, however, you may want to look elsewhere, or get the subwoofer addition.
As another reviewer stated, these are designed for a person sitting directly in front of them. The sound becomes tinny the further you are from them. I'm using these specifically as computer desk speakers which they are perfect for.
Design:
I got the black V3s and have to say they look really cool. The gold of the speakers stands out against the black.
I love that they are both powered by and transmit audio via USB. So I have one wire going to the back of my PC and one wire connecting them. Very minimal.
They are slightly larger than I expected from the pictures. Someone else compared the size to a large orange. These are closer to a large grapefruit. Perhaps the V3s are a little bigger overall to match the slightly larger speaker. Regardless, the design is aesthetically pleasing and they're no bigger than your average Logitech speakers, just rounder and shorter.
The blinking light while connected to Bluetooth is a silly misstep, but I don't plan on utilizing the Bluetooth often, and I usually put tape over bright electronic lights anyway.
Overall, these are an excellent pair of speakers for the price. The sound quality is well beyond my expectations, and should definitely appeal to those who appreciate clarity with a more neutral sound mix. Kudos to Creative for keeping up the good work.

Great speakers, less cables, but a few annoyances
I bought these speakers to replace my old desktop speakers, as I wanted Bluetooth and fewer cords.The sound is great, but there are a few minor annoyances. The Bluetooth light blinks when connected and transmitting, which is distracting. Also, the speakers pop when I restart or turn off my Mac, even with a USB-C connection. Finally, shifting the Balance on my Mac to either full Left or Right turns off any audio. However, I tested to ensure they’re stereo, and they are.A word of caution: if you use a USB-C hub, connecting directly to your computer is recommended for best results. I originally plugged the speaker’s USB-C into a UBC-C hub for my Mac mini, and the speakers would go into Bluetooth mode whenever I restarted or turned on my Mac. I then needed to hit the Bluetooth button on the speaker to switch to USB-C.

Pros:
- Small size, fits on my IKEA DIY L-shaped desk just fine beside my monitor stand.
- Easy to use, comes with type C cable and a C to A adapter so you can plug it into legacy USB ports
- Good range (listening to a Piano Concerto right now and it sounds good). Some bass, not a ton but it's present
- Draws about 100mA at 5W with audio that fills my office (playing some rock music) so any USB port will work in fact lsusb reports the device only requests a max of 300mA
- Good price for the quality
Cons:
- I think you really need USB PD to get the full claimed output but honestly on USB 5V power they're loud and clear enough. I imagine jamming it louder would just amplify any distortion present. So unless you're in a very large open room you don't need to worry about this.
- No grill or cloth cover on the speakers. You can see the cones. Which looks cool but it also going to get all sorts of dirt/lint/etc in it.
- Don't get me wrong they sound very pleasant (good frequency response, no buzzing or other annoying distortions) and I intend to use them until they fall apart, but they're by no means the most full sounding speakers either. I've had better headphones in the same ballpark price range (maybe a bit more expensive). So if you're after monitor quality speakers these ain't it (but they're also way cheaper than monitors).
