On February 20, #TsinghuaSIGS hosted the screening for the Sino-French co-produced #documentary film “Kangxi & Louis XIV”, followed by an exchange session with creators. The event attracted over 300 faculty and students to attend. As a special tribute to the 60th #anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, the documentary was jointly produced by Chinese and French teams with cross-border filming. The film unveils the little-known historical connection between two great monarchs, Kangxi and Louis XIV, showcasing over 300 years of Sino-French exchanges in science, trade, and cultural thought. #CulturalExchange #Tsinghua #France

The Institute for Future Human Habitats (IFHH) at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS) is looking for talented educators and researchers to bolster the academic collegium of the institute. Based on the intersection of architecture, urbanism and many related disciplines in the 21st century, IFHH focuses on the cutting-edge problems of human settlement in the future, with design thinking as the core, for a smarter and more sustainable built environment. The M.Arch in Future Human Habitat Design program is an innovative program launched in autumn 2020 at Tsinghua SIGS. The program draws upon boundary-crossing research among a cluster of disciplines and focuses on advanced technologies and ideas related to design issues of future human habitats. The program centers on design-oriented research as its ethos and endeavours to envision and create a more intelligent, sustainable, and human-oriented built environment. Our new "Master of Urban Systems in Human Habitats" program is guided by global strategic needs, high-quality innovative development, international industry leadership, and is open to global enrolment in a 100% English programme. It is is designed to cultivate high-level design and planning professionals able to work with multi-cultural spirit, global vision, social responsibility and technology-based professional design and planning abilities. The program offers the chance to focus on major challenges and cutting-edge technologies in urban and rural habitats at the scale of components, buildings and systems within the built environment. Relying on Tsinghua University's rich teaching resources and the interdisciplinary foundation of the institute, the program provides strong support for the governance of the built environment and its transformation, catering to the future needs of human habitats. Our research spans across architecture, building technologies, urbanism and the humanities in the built environment, all connected through digital technologies and human-oriented design. We welcome applicants with curiosity, ambition, and innovation who are willing to help redefine the nature of future human habitats and how we educate the next generation of built environment stewards.
