RoboLiga-Proctor is a Python-based activity and screenshot logging tool for the Virtual Robotics League at Universidad Abierta Interamericana! 🇦🇷 This only took about an hour to put together as this was intended to be a simple handoff package, giving Gonzalo Zabala and Sebastián Blanco a base they can build on for future expansions. This tool monitors student activity by capturing low-res screenshots at regular intervals, providing a lightweight, non-intrusive way to ensure fair play in remote competitions. Recording performance capture in a small room can be challenging, but impressive results in just minutes are now possible! Check out this short video from my latest project where I experiment with a real-time 3d in Unreal Engine for use in gaming works great with #uefn . Thanks to the updated Rokoko Studio + Live Link Hub playing nice in UE5 it works with live link in 5.4.3. Why am I excited by small things like this? I trust Motion capture is like story telling unfolding as it happens. I want to have fun with what the character does, can adjust where the character is, stream any animations into previs while doing takes and then later replace with a recording using the UE5 skeleton that will "just work"! Lastly, bake to control rig is a game changer for artists as they can fine tune the animation without the need to edit each bone seperate. In the update I noticed finger animations on characters look significantly better! Another cool thing I checked out is to stream live using Live Link (currently capped at 24 fps), and interact with something in the scene that needed precision. So lets play a midi piano live. Later I used a treadmill to simulate long-distance walking. I'm truly impressed with how well the new UE5 rettargeting IK system performs even for long takes. Next up? How about using Luma AI Dream Machine-Keyframes to create animations for mockups? I made some experiments with iPhone mockups, and it totally works! You can animate the screen, the background, or both! All you need to do is choose start and end keyframes, add a prompt, and ta-da! For this one, my prompt was: screen transforms smoothly.
