About

I am a full-stack web developer from Istanbul, Turkey currently living in Abidjan, Ivory Coast (GMT). I worked in different jobs for about 14 years before I got my first web development job in 2023 at Beca Restaurant Istanbul where I custom-built a front-end heavy dashboard for managing table reservations using Nuxt, Vue.js, and PostgreSQL.

Cuurrent project that I have been working on is a piggy bank web-application. I have been building it with Laravel and Blade, and I am planning to publish its MVP version at www.akluma.com sometime during the first half of 2025.

I am thorough and committed to my work. Reading general science, learning French, and practicing yoga are some of the fun things I do outside work. My wife, our son, and I live in Abidjan.

I am looking for a full-time web development job in Abidjan, and am comfortable with remote, hybrid, or on-site setups. I am also open to fully remote opportunities worldwide.

Sweet; because, I worked with great people, and I had all the resources I needed to do the job the right way. The culture was genuinely inclusive and supportive. I left the job in April, primarily because the tech stack that we used was limited to MS Excel and SOQL, and didn’t look like this would change in a foreseeable future. Speaking strictly in terms of technical difficulty, I am extremely motivated to face real challenges. This wasn’t quite the environment. Thanks to my manager Eren Çamlıkaya, and the team, both the start and the ending of this experience were pleasant.

I worked as a business analyst at Veripark from March to August 2022 as part of a team comprising 15 members. We built and maintained the online banking platform of our foreign client in the financial sector. I was the only analyst in the unit; others worked as software developers and QA specialists. The work was tech-intense, challenging, and fun! I quit my job at Veripark in August so that I can invest all my energy into learning web development.

I started building it in November last year, and I am planning to make its first version available sometime during the first half of 2025. It is going to be available in Turkish, English, and French, and it is going to support several currencies. I am hoping to see it help people save money for buying the things they want, be it a fancy computer, or a good sum of money for kick-starting their business.

I am building it with Laravel, Blade, vanilla JavaScript, Alpine.js, MySQL, and Docker (Laravel Sail).

  • Customer Segmentation

    -

We teamed up and worked on customer segmentation project for about four months. Our main focus during this preparation phase was to talk with different departments in the company and hear their opinions regarding why we would need customer segments and what criteria we could use in order to have effective segments. At the end of this period, there was enough analysis and work done to start evaluating different softwares for doing the data work and later the implementation.
