📢New Report: Nutrition Meets Procurement Food service procurement is a powerful but often overlooked lever for healthier and more sustainable diets. How can businesses and institutions integrate nutrition considerations into procurement decisions to drive meaningful change? 🔑Why it matters: 💰Our food systems generate $12 trillion in hidden costs linked to health, the environment, and the economy – procurement decisions can either contribute to or help reduce these costs. 🍽️The food service sector is key to transforming food systems; U.S. consumers spend over 50% of their food budget outside the home. 🌍Integrating nutrition into procurement strategies can encourage businesses to support public health and advance sustainability commitments, while creating more resilient supply chains. Our new report explores challenges, solutions, best practices, and opportunities for pre-competitive collaboration to shape food environments that promote healthy and sustainable diets. By embedding nutrition into procurement, businesses can help create food environments that support better health and sustainability. 📢Start transforming food service procurement in your organization today! 🔗Download the full report here: https://lnkd.in/eGHatD6Q 🔗Read our blog here: https://lnkd.in/eRyrZ3e2 #FoodService #FoodSystemsTransformation #NutritionIntegration Eat Well Global, Inc, BaxterStorey, Center for Good Food Purchasing, Compass Group, Foodbuy Group, Google Food Program, Gordon Food Service, Griffith Foods, Guckenheimer, ofi

Happy International Women’s Day! 🌏 Achieving gender equality is essential to building a better, more sustainable world. To tackle the climate crisis and restore and protect nature, we must recognise and empower women in their critical role as leaders and changemakers. 🚨Transforming our food systems isn’t a solo act – it’s everyone’s business! At the upcoming High-Level Private Sector Event on March 26, ahead of the Nutrition 4 Growth Summit (N4G) in Paris, businesses are proving that leadership in nutrition and sustainability is both possible and necessary. Since the last N4G Summit in 2021, several WBCSD member companies have continued to deliver against SMART commitments in areas such as food fortification, product reformulation, workforce nutrition, and plant-forward foods. ➡️The result? Meaningful progress toward healthier and more sustainable diets. But we’re not there yet. To truly shift the food system, collaboration is key - across industries, policymakers, and civil society. 💡How can we accelerate change? By celebrating progress, championing transparency, and working together. The energy at India Connect 2025 was remarkable! The 2nd edition of WBCSD's India Connect, co-hosted with JSW and members like KPMG and ERM as well as our global network partner, Confederation of Indian Industry, took place over two days in Mumbai. Together, we joined forces to accelerate sustainable business practices across India's dynamic economy. Highlights included: 📈 There was strong alignment on value creation and the business case for sustainability amongst government and industry leaders. Discussions focused on clean air, affordable clean energy, green infrastructure and resilient supply chains, all underpinned by decision-useful disclosure. ⚙️ WBCSD's Corporate Performance & Accountability System (CPAS) proved to be a compelling diagnostic tool, helping businesses identify solutions, enhance internal collaboration, and align with capital markets (https://lnkd.in/gKgRnzfD). 🔄 Supply chain innovation on the rise. Circularity initiatives are thriving, particularly in the agri-food sector, with NABARD - National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development’s commitment to gap financing creating new opportunities for scalable impact. 🚛 Businesses called for coordinated action across the zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) value chain, emphasizing the need to map infrastructure investment and design innovative financing solutions to enable large-scale e-freight deployment in India. The networking sessions created a fantastic community atmosphere, and the event reinforced the importance of maintaining a dedicated annual WBCSD gathering in India. Thank you to all participants for your engagement and commitment to building a more sustainable future! 🌏 Learn more: https://events.wbcsd.org/ #SustainableBusiness #IndiaConnect2025 #ClimateAction Joe Phelan, Trisha Mascarenhas, Fiona Watson, Gunay H., Jennie Dodson, Deviah Aiama, Catherine P.
